I have heard some people claim that not allowing the flag carrier to drop the flag will result in more team work.

More team work than this?

That clip will go completely over most peoples heads.
Some people obviously don’t play enough capture the flag if they say that then.
That game takes no skill. It’s just 3 shot Pistols. Call of Duty he-saw-me-first ripoff.

You must not know me very well. I’m SitrI, I’m a massive Halo CE fanboy.
Now that we are acquainted, that post was total sarcasm. I don’t doubt someone would say that, though.
While that is more teamwork, you have to think:
how many people do that? especially in Matchmaking?
how many maps allow you to do this?
overall, not being able to drop the Flag encourages more teamwork than previously before.
> That clip will go completely over most peoples heads.
Yeah, I think most people don’t understand because at the level they play at flagdropping is not necessary so they put the blinders on and say “if I haven’t experienced it, it doesnt exist”.
> how many people do that? especially in Matchmaking?
Anybody who is any good at the game. I had over 200 exp in Team Flag on Halo 3. I did it all the time in CTF gametypes.
> how many maps allow you to do this?
You can throw the flag to a teammate, who is on higher ground, on any map to get a tactical advantage.
> overall, not being able to drop the Flag encourages more teamwork than previously before.
No…it doesn’t. Stop brown-nosing.

Truer words have never been spoken.
I doubt amazing teamwork is just going to sprout from nowhere with this glue flag implementation. Really, you can’t rely on randoms. It’s going to be the party way if anything, unless they give us a divide to social playlists.
I frankly don’t care about wining that much when I’m in social like BTB used to be in. I wonder if there will be a divide or just competitive.

Team work? Its debatable. Some people act like “oh its just a pistol, hes so weak he could kill no body” when in reality its not that much weaker. Its on equal terms with dmr/br/carbine if the enemy just misses one shot. Its over all actually stronger and more advantageous since you can run AND fight at 4/5ths the “capability”.
Secondly, any time you give a player less options to work with, it removes the need for good decision making even more and dumbs down the game.
You really just have to look at it as, how much damage could a guy juggling a flag and a guy running with flag and pistol at same time and how far could they get. H4 flag runner could get just as far, with damage along the way. A h2-reach could get almost as far, while having to drop the flag to shoot at all.
So imo fighting at around 80% capability and full speed vs previous halos around 90% full speed and id judge 60% capability (since it takes a couple seconds to drop flag, and you have to face the way you carry it)
It really adds up to being easier, and removes decision making.
Oh god i dont know how i didnt catch this earlier, but it also means that you can only use a pistol your WHOLE journey… No more awesome gernades or no scopes to save yourself, bravo 343 limit a good player once again.
