Team Snipes Jan Update

I’ve been a Sniper since Halo 2 and when I saw that 343i were remaking Beaver Creek, Headlong and Hang em High I couldn’t wait to relive the experience. However, I knew that it would have to come with an update so when December passed I was disappointed.

January comes around and Team Snipers finally has had it’s injection of new maps. Zealot. Countdown. Penance. 3 new maps but not one of them from H2. If Penance can be put in the playlist, why not the other DLC maps?

I’d also like to see the return of Pinnacle. That’d be the icing on the cake. Who else agrees?

I just wish they added Asylum to team snipers

Hang em’ High would be soooooo sweet. I spent countless hours playing that on H2. I’m just glad we have some smaller maps added. I hardly play Snipers because EVERY game people vote on Hemmorage. (Which i refuse to play).

Im sorry but <mark>“Countdown”</mark> is no way a snipers map and in no way anyone will ever vote for it! What were you thinking?

“Penance” lol, I forgot DLC shows up so much on this game. Why not add “Hang em High” or “Anchor 9” too? Open Maps that offer little tunnelling.

Where the hell is Pinnacle and Asylum? Those two maps alone would would of shut us up until Halo 4… Why on earth does SWAT still have Pinnacle by the way? Snipes and SWAT are basically the same thing!

But yeah you sure know what your doing if your trying to kill snipes… well done.

Thanks for reminding me about Asylum, I forgot about that map. I actually prefer it to MLG Sanctuary but that’s probably because I’ve played on it so much and am used to the sightlines (I like seeing from Snipe through mid ring and to the other Snipe)

Also, Countdown is a spiritual successor to Construct from H3 and imo is a better map.

I agree. I just don’t get it. Hemorrhage is chosen probably 80% of the time or more so obviously people do actually like to use the sniper at distance yet all they give us is small maps for no scoping.

Asylum, Sanctuary, Pinnacle, Hang Em High… Unbelievable.

I bet Countdown becomes another Powerhouse. A map that’s never chosen.

Also, again why can we not get heavier weighting to DLC?

Hmm, they really added Countdown and Zealot? Man, they are desperate.

To everyone who wants Asylum, there are major frame drops in that map due to the way the game was made which highly compromises aiming. Team Snipers on that map would be nice because of the layout, but it would be frustrating due to the screen lag (framerate drop).

Countdown is a spiritual successor to the map Construct from H3 and is much better imo. Zealot is a spiritual succesor to the map Midship (remade and renamed Heretic in H3) from H2.

Both Construct and Heretic were featured in Team Snipers in H3 and so Countdown and Zealot will be a good addition in Reach.

I want Zanzibar, remove countdown and zealot

I actually posted a while back that Zanzibar would be a good map to remake. The moving wheel makes it impossible to forge.

I think a static wheel would suffice, what about the movable barriers? (Off topic, I know)

As for snipers, I would like to see Breakpoint on there just to find out how it’s like.

I agree completely with pretty much everyone’s posts. They chose some pretty crappy maps to use instead of a more open airy map that snipers needs. I really wish they’d make asylum and pinnacle snipers maps. They need to add more to the amount of maps but seriously the maps they chose are horrific D: My husband played snipes in Halo 2 also and he’s not to ecstatic on those maps added. We both have agreed for a while there’s not enough maps but this way is just not really much help :confused: I wanted some of the original maps too and lockout would have been perfect if they had remade it.

When I saw that Ascension was being remade in Reach I was happy. Then I found out the little turny thingy did no longey movey. Bungie just about got away with that though because it wasn’t that important. However, the wheel in Zanzibar provides a means to get up to Camo and Rockets.

I’ve played Snipers on Breakpoint and it was terrible. One team spawned under where you need to take the core in invasion and had no chance in hell of winning.

As for Lockout, I think it’s agreed that it’s one of the series best maps and a return in Reach would be amazing. However, it’s an easily forged map and there are multiple variants of it. All 343i need to do is playtest a few and put the best one in to MM.

Once they’ve added a forged Lockout, 343i need to add MLG Sanctuary (even though I prefer the sightlines on Asylum, Asylum has framerate issues) and MLG The Pit.

If I had to choose H2 maps for a H2 anniversary map pack I’d choose Zanzibar, Terminal and Elongation.

I actually got lucky and had a few snipers games voted on in the Classic Anniversary playlist. I got to play Snipers of Headlong twice and on Hang 'em High once.
