Team Snipers is not a Sniper playlist at all

Guys I don’t know how to put it any other way. When you have Bulldogs, Manglers, and Pulse Carbines as secondaries, the sniper weapons stop being the best strategy in most situations.

Bulldogs overwhelm the sniper because of their range and spammability, the Skewer has such a long reload that all anyone does is shoot once and swap to the Mangler, and the Pulse Carbine is insanely OP in combos and when used by multiple players at once.

And why is the Shock Rifle not in it? I’m so confused right now. Like baffled, bamboozled, awestruck…

Just another case of 343 going: “If it ain’t broke, change it anyway!”

Covie Snipes with the Stalker Rifle makes no sense to me. That’s like making “Team Snipers” with the DMR or the Carbine.

You realize that what I’m saying is It’s not an actual snipers playlist right? Occasionally having shotty snipes is fine, but having it as the main gametype is not a sniper focused game mode.

That’s because it’s not Snipers only and never was intended to be… It’s Sniper Shotties if I recall. Which has been a fairly popular game mode in other Halo’s. Bare in mind, previous halo’s usually had a more powerful shotgun then the one presented in Halo Infinite as well.

I do agree with the lack of the Shock Rifle though. That is a sniper rifle ( with some decent anti-vehicle perks too ).

And that’s why everyone still wants a snipers playlist.

It’s like 343 goes out of their way to not give the players what they want, while claiming that they are.

It says “team snipers” on the selection menu

Fans: “Did you add Team Snipers to Infinite?”

343: “Well yes but actually no”

I don’t know why it’s so hard to just keep the Classic in a Classic Snipers playlist

Ah, they do actually call it Shotty Snipes on the twitter is where I got it:

It’s a combination of set ups actually.

At that rate the infection playlist will just be a generic team slayer with occasionally a sword in the mix
Im calling it

It is still about your beloved sniper but the sniper rifle must tell its story, so they’ve also added its friends to accompany it in its adventures! Plus the playlist needs to have diversity and weapons used by the other alien races, not just the humans.

As i stated before somewhere, 343 just loves to change stuff, for the sake of changing it. Which at this point, is just sad.

The problem is, when they design the gun sandbox around every gun having its own niche, it makes some objectively better, sometimes in way more areas than intended (or vice versa), this sniper overlap is full of these.

The skewer is anti vehicle, sure but its also OHK anywhere and has a bigger reticle so its easier to use, assuming you land that one shot you get.

S7 is just the classic sniper with no trade offs, except hipfire bloom, because wow, thats such an amazing idea! (Sarcasm)

Stalker is the sniper for people who can’t snipe, so in other words, a strong designated marksman rifle (DMR)

Shock rifle is a sniper, but with only downsides against people unless youre amazing at tracking headshots without zooming, with just a bit more aim assist than a sniper. Its shock and doesnt even do more shield damage than its S7 counterpart!

I completely agree with you. Needless to say that I was joking in my previous comment.

Weapons should have their own niche and be objectively better in various situations, while having their weaknesses against other weapons and in certain situations. There should even be weapons that are objectively better than all other weapons in most of the situations, but the map’s design should prevent them from making the match unplayable - instead it should provide the players with plenty of tactical avenues.

For instance, you wouldn’t feel like God almighty carrying a fuel rod or a rocket launcher in an open area of a map such as Sidewinder and while knowing that there are snipers at the balconies of the bases, but you’d certainly move around with great confidence in its closed areas and caverns. On the other hand, you wouldn’t be able to ruin a match by camping with a sniper rifle, if the map provided alternate avenues to your opponents to achieve their goal (interior areas/paths, obstacles etc.).

The smart designer leaves weapons unbalanced, and uses map/level design to balance them and to place them only where they make sense, and the hind-sighted designer simply removes the fuel rod because it’s a strong weapon. The hind-sighted also places restrictions on where you can be on the map and demands you to come down from that high place where you are camping and return to the arena asap, instead of designing the map in a way that it shouldn’t matter and allow you to have your fun.

And of course, while there should be OP weapons, there should also be limits to how OP a weapon can be, and I really liked Halo CE’s approach on that e.g. rockets being fast but also slow enough that you could dodge them if you were far enough or sniper bullets leaving a vapor trail allowing you to detect where they were coming from.

I don’t understand why 343i feel the need to attempt to overcomplicate everything, from the armour coating system which removed the basic and loved 2 colour scheme we had for years and replaced it with a system that hopefully by chance presents you with the exact colour scheme you’re after (and even if it does its probably a shop item and you can only use it on one spartan core rather than the one you want to use it on)

Now they’ve over complicated something as simple as Team Snipers, I can deal with shotty snipes, but that should be its own play list along with covie snipes having its own etc, I want to play Team Snipers so I can use a yoinking sniper! If I wanted to be thrown into a gametype that gave me random weapons and modes I’d pick quickplay or fiesta. That market has already been filled.

Seriously over these guys yoinking up every addition they add to the game, its not hard to look back at what worked from the previous (bungie) tittles and try to put a modern spin on that, instead they keep ruining a potentially good thing by trying to fix things that ain’t broke.

I’m fine with the bulldog. But the mangler almost completely replaces the skewer since it’s a one shot, and the mangler is more dependable especially in engaging multiple enemies.

The lack of the shock rifle is… shocking…

Wait a minute, knowing how the maps in infinite have been designed to be a cluster, what’s the point of using snipers knowing most are going to run around using the Pulse Carbine or Mangler?

This is mind boggling that someone for some weird reason didn’t even bother to at least think before they made this call.

(Destiny maps on how they are designed are a prime example of what sways players to use with certain maps, and when you have maps that are tiny or a cluster it causes players to use short range weapons more often then not.) Actually, that is a fact with any game.

The problem with infinite, just about ever single map in the game is literally a cluster. You can not call this game mode “team snipers” and actually believe that is knowing the fact of how the maps have been designed. Team snipers worked with Bungie’s maps like BTB because a lot of maps were designed with vehicles in mind, having that open space to move around that was perfect for snipers. Hell, even Halo 5 had open maps, so someone needs to think before making anymore calls as bad as this one actually is,

I’ve yet to play the playlist. Hoping to play tonight. I’m not sure why the Bulldog, Mangler or Pulse Carbine would be in the playlist…

How in the mega f**k do you make a TEAM SNIPERS playlist in which 2/3 of the game types DOESNT EVEN INCLUDE A SNIPER RIFLE??? and then the only other sniper in the game being the SHOCK RIFLE isn’t even included??!!!

Skewer = Not a Sniper
Stalker = Not a Sniper
Pulse Carbine + Mangler = What the mega f are you doing here???

It seriously feels like the people at 343 are actively trying to throttle enjoyment. It’s as if you know EXACLTY what we want but go out of your way to not provide it or water it down with game modes that no one asked for and aren’t applicable to team snipes :man_facepalming:

WHAT WE EXPECTED FOR TEAM SNIPES GAMEMODES:
S7 Snipe + Shotgun
S7 Snipe and no Secondary
Shock Rifle and No secondary
Shock rifle and MAYBE Disruptor as secondary

Please take this post into serious consideration 343.
