The system was flawed from the start when you had to use a separate device just to see your rank. Unless there were losses prior to the win and rank down (system is always a game or two behind) then it is pretty dumb for that to happen in a win/lose playlist. Seems about par for the course though.
I am hoping there is just a 1-2 game delay. Did you guys lose in a game prior to that and the level drop was just delayed?
I don’t understand any other possible scenario then that.
My problem with the current ranking system is the amount of wins to level is unknown, which makes me irritated.(I know its a lot ha ha.)
Another problem is that if you lose you are very likely going down a level regardless of if you just won 40 games in a row or not.
My favorite ranking system was the halo 2 system. It was efficient and showed true skil, the xp bar showed how close you were to leveling and it was just simple and clear.
Obviously the halo 2 system had cheaters but those players that played legitimate and gained a high rank were respected because of the difficulty and that is not the case since probably halo 3.
I have the opposite issue. I keep losing and ranking up. I don’t get it. I’m way out of my league and getting smoked every game. I’ve quit multiple times and lost a bunch of games and still keep ranking up? WTF?

The reason that you rank up while losing, or rank down while winning, is that CSR takes your performance on your team into account, if you are put into a team with a bunch of better people than you and ride them to victory - then you will not level as fast as you would if you contribute more. Similarly, if you are put on a team with a bunch of people with no skill and outdo them easily (but still lose) then you contributed more to the team, so you will rank up. I’m not saying that this system is good, that’s just how it works

I really hope that is not true otherwise I will be sad.

I gave up…on Halo…couldn’t get past a 45 and went down to a 44 for winning to many times. Good luck on the Random skill ranking and everyone backing out for the Top 200.

Here is a news flash for you. Everything you just stated, is only if it’s an Indivisual playlist, not a team. In a team playlist, it doesn’t matter how well you do, just that you won the match.
I was told this issue would be looked into .
Not sure if it has as of yet but hopefully they get the kinks worked outin the next week or the top 200 will suffer
Is the ranking even based on team or individual? Because it behaves JUST like individual. I highly suggest this gets looked in to. Because when I play I have to constantly worry about out scoring my team mates instead of winning the game. If I don’t, then I will rank down after a very hard fought game leading to a win.
Please look into this. The old Team Slayer CSR was based on individual, (which I never understood to begin with.) So I just think it would be very easy to over look it when the changes were made for the top 200 competition.
You are always at least one game ahead of your CSR. If it appears that you rank down after a win, it may be because the system has last registered a loss, and has not yet displayed your most recent victory.
Also, Halo 4 uses Trueskill to rank and match players. In some edge cases within the Trueskill system, it is possible to rank down after winning a match. For specific examples of what may cause this, head to the Trueskill FAQ.
Explain this please. I just won 8 games in a row. I came in first for all but one of the games, in which I came second by only a few points. Throughout this I went from a 20 to 22, down to a 21 and back to a 22. If this really went off of individual skill shouldn’t I rank up every game so that I am matched with better people? Here are my stats.
Not how you do you need to run the games and do well in those games+ if they are vs higher rankings then you are more likely to rank up but you still need to WIN AS A TEAM.
