I thoroughly enjoy playing Halo 4, and Team Slayer is easily my #1 playlist. It however can be such a pain due to the Infinity game types (Infinity Slayer, and Team Slayer) To be killed over and over by people using the cheapest tactics offered by the game (Jet Pack, Sticky Nades, Active Camo, boltshots etc…) gets to be EXTREMELY infuriating. Not to mention when a team gets on a roll they get the free power weapons dropped at their feet to further increase the frustrating game play.
The playlist can be so easily be fixed I can’t see why it hasn’t been done. Simply remove all Infinity game types, and add Slayer Pro, and Throwdown Slayer. This would make such a difference in my online experience. I would know if I died it was because of 1 of 2 things. 1: I got out played by the other team/players. Or 2: I made a stupid decision and paid the consequences for it.
For those that want to continue to play the madness that is Infinity Slayer, put it in the Team Action Sack playlist, and set it to the left hand side so they can always vote for it.
For those that are going to say play Proving Grounds. Proving Grounds is a mix of game types, and a place for high caliber teams that play together all the time. To go into that playlist would be to like throwing myself to the wolves. Which is why the playlist numbers tend to be small.
I wish I could sit down with the sustain team personally and talk to them about this, and listen to their reasons why these decisions have been made.
Infinity Slayer is basically Halo 4’s flagship game type is probably its most popular. The chances of it being removed and put into Action Sack, specially at this point in the game’s life, is extremely unlikely.

I agree, and I wouldn’t want to see Infinity removed. I like the perks, loadouts, AA’s and all the other variations that makes Infinity slayer interesting over vanilla slayer.
Maybe in the future they might recall a ranked playlist that contains the stripped down vanilla Slayer that would appeal to the non casual players.
I just hope that they don’t kill load outs and AA’s in future halo games. That would really make it boring again.
Infinity is very popular among all skill levels. The high skill players love it because they can exploit lower skilled players even more with infinity because they can pull down saws or snipers often during a game, and then exploit PV or jetpacks to great effect. Lower skilled players also love to have stickies in their pocket and use jetpacks and cammo and get the occasional ordnance drop. Legendary is almost never picked so obviously it’s just not very popular which puts 323 in a bit of a dilemma on what to do with H5. People seem to complain about infinity all the time on this forum, yet everybody that actually plays this game (the few that do) consistently pick infinity.
I can’t say Infinity slayer is popular. I can say it is popular among those that are left playing the game.
Infinity Slayer is a slower version of Fiesta Slayer, so much randomness, so much… I have to wonder if we would of had the playlist I suggested above at the beginning of Halo 4’s life if we wouldn’t have a higher population now.
I think Halo 4 is a good game, but for it to be fun, and a real test of my skill I have to play customs, or have a group to control the vote.
At the very least, take Legendary Slayer, and switch it’s voting position with Infinity Slayer.
I personally hope that AA’s, Sprint, and Custom Load Outs are removed from all future titles. They work in other games fine, but Halo isn’t one of them.
Master Chief Collection can’t get here soon enough…
“Fixed”
The problem is that some people don’t feel the same way you do about Infinity Slayer.
Crazed, arguing with the casuals on their own turf
This is all they’ve got, all they’ll ever get. Let them enjoy it, we’ve got bigger fish to fry and more fun to be had. You can’t argue with someone who doesn’t understand, and you know at this point the playlist won’t change.

I know Del. Can’t blame a Spartan for trying to save a game he loves. It still makes me weep for the state of Halo 4, and how it had so much untapped potential to be a truly great game.

How noble.
I think what killed it for me was the stupid orbital drops. Not so bad about how they do it but the blip on the HUD just made learning the weapon spawns worthless. No learning required just look at the pictures…
unfortunately H4 won’t be changing. I would love it if they came out with a title update that simply ditched ordnance drops and infinity settings, that way people wouldn’t have the option of choosing infinity and perhaps some of the people that left and continue to play H3 / reach would come back. But MCC is just around the corner and that will have to hold us over until H5 comes out. H4 may completely die after MCC comes out, hard to say but it will be interesting to see the online population when H2A is out.
If… if there was perfect skill matching, there would be no need for power weapons, load-outs, weapon drops or armor abilities - other than to mix things up a bit.
