TEAM "QUIT-DOWN" aka Throwdown

After 30 to 40 games played 99% had person quit. Most quit Within The voting screen to the first minute of game-play . WTF!

Grab some friends and go to that playlist.

i also hate how there is no motion tracker.

This.

I played one game going in alone and guess what…no one quit and we were evenly matched. Crazy, I know.

It is really starting to piss me off. Every match 2 people quit and it becomes 2 on 4. If its not my team quitting before the match begins then its the other team, and i hate matches where the other team only has two people because it is not fair and it makes the game go slow

that doesnt work either.

go in with a team, you basically get to choose whatever gametype you want, choose the wrong one, the other team quits. choose the right one and start stomping them because you are a coordinated team, the enemy team quits. basically, the only way to have the other team not quit is to lose most of the match and come back, but then your team will quit out.

the problem is there isn’t any visual rank. if there was something to play for, people would stick it out. there may be quitters in the 25 and under range, but above that range people would actually try and not quit for the most part and the loser quitting garbage players can quit out all they want down at the bottom.

Halo Reach Quit ban = 15 min

Halo 4 Quit ban = 60 min

The problem is something more in the middle would be best. It takes a BUTT TON of quitting to get a Halo 4 quit ban.

A 30 min quit ban that gets triggered easily would be more appropriate.

Less sensitive than Reach but more sensitive than Halo 4

What so a team working together and owning can force the other team to quit even harder?

That will only happen for a little while.

Play with a team and the following happens:
Win percentage goes up
Kills per game go up
Deaths per game goes down.

In general your true skill and the true skill of your team goes up.

After that happens you are more likely to face competent players/ other teams. You will encounter much less quitting.

Wasn’t there already a thread called Team QuitDown?

This is like every playlist in this game

The issue is that there is absolutely no join in progress for any amount of time.

That combined with the fact that matchmaking continues to run post game, so if you forget to quit on your last game and get lost in the post game report, your team gets paired with you and then you quit once you realize you’re in a lobby.

Potential Solutions

Keep join in progress running for (at most?) up to 10 seconds into the match.

or

Force everyone to stop matchmaking post game. (All they have to do it start the search again.(as long as he leader is paying attention))

Test and add accordingly.

I like having the BR to start but it would be cool to have a secondary weapon. This is basically a modified Slayer Pro but worse. That’s why people quit. The population will severely dwindle over the next week or two.

And here we have why JIP can actually be a good thing despite the amount of criticism it has received

No, we have a perfect example of a lack in forethought.

The ability to leave the pregame lobby only exists because JiP was implemented. Logically, if JiP is to be removed then the ability to leave the pre-game lobby must also be removed.

JiP is a terrible idea…

Think about it, it is a system that has been put in place to try and reduce the negative impact of quitting. It attempts to achieve this by forcing other players into the types of situations that cause quitting in the first place. Then it adds fuel to the fire by also giving players the misguided idea that quitting is ok because ‘JiP will take care of it’ when that’s simply not always the case

AN ANALYSIS OF QUITTING AND HOW TO PREVENT IT < Check it

I think the settings for this playlist is fantastic and I search alone but I think overall it’s going to fail for 3 reasons:

  1. As much as people on the forums say they want “competitive” game play they must be a very small minority of players as this playlist has had a very weak population from the start. This could be due to lack of advertisement (I know they have the little blurb at the start but it’s buried down in the list and has a weird name (For some reason Throwdown seems…old. I think this is a nod to Halo 2? but for a company that seems to be trying to put there own stamp on things it seems odd.) Also, if I was new or didn’t pay attention to the forums I would not have even known what the heck this playlist was (in my office I was the only one who knew what it was and that is had been added out of 10 people asked). Personally I think they should have just named it “Team Slayer” and put it on the top.

  2. Not everyone wants to play objective. Even on Infinity Slayer objective with randoms is terrible (well actually Infinity Objective should be renamed to “Stat Padding” as that’s what most people do in there anyway.) I believe this is why when anything other than Slayer gets picked people quit ASAP. I think they should have made two separate playlists (one for Slayer and one for Objective).

  3. Lag. Lag. And Lag. This could be to my living in the midwest but it gets very old to press the grenade button, move a few feet and then watch a grenade pop out 1-2 seconds later. Or watch the other guy jitter around, go to the score screen and then come back in another location facing a wall. (Now I know I’m crappy at this game and most “lag” is just bad playing/positioning but the grenade / jitter thing gets old…)

Hopefully #3 is just due to low population but it’s hard to tell everyone to check it out and then get laggy game after laggy game…

It’s one of the only playlist without motion tracker, if you don’t like it go play Team OBJ, that has a wide grab bag of Gametypes.
