Team Killing

So myself and two of my friends that are queued finally get in a match with 3 other people that were also queued up together so it should be a good old 3v3 but no, it puts one of their players on our team making it a 4v2. So once the game starts he just starts team killing then shooting us just enough to take our shields down so his friends can one shot us. We cant kick him because he only team killed once right at the beginning then took our shields down and we couldnt do anything about it. This launch is out of control.

People have been indirectly team killing by draining teammates shields since Halo came out. This has nothing to do with the launch. Stop conflating unrelated issues.

He is trying to explain that there’s games that split up grouped parties and those people that are split up team kill to let their friends win. However it’s a known issue already about groups being split up when the match begins.

It does have to do with the launch, a 6 player game should not divide the team to be 4v2, it should be 3v3.

When 2 parties of 3 join a game it should be 3v3 with my party of 3 against their party of 3 not my party of 3 plus one of their players against 2 of theirs. I didn’t wait 10 minutes to get “team killed” because this game has more issues than they know what to do with at the moment.

Sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying. My mistake. Yeah, they’ve already posted that they know splitting parties and unbalanced teams are known issues, they’re going to get to them after they have some more effective fixes to the slow matchmaking issues.

Hopefully this problem will be mitigated once updates start rolling out, and matchmaking teams become even, and based on parties.
But as for team-killing/draining shield, as Lithium mentioned, has been occurring for a long time. But are amplified by the matchmaking issues.

Add a vote kick option?

I assume they’ll just go with the same betrayal detection-kick system they’ve gone with in the past. After so much team damage done, if they betray you then you’ll get the option to kick them.

but a lot of people are smart enough to just get your shield down and not completely kill you…

I agree that would be annoying. But imagine a vote kick option, now imagine trolls having access to it. Yeah, i’d rather have drained shields than be kicked by a plethora of -Yoink-. I’ve seen vote-kick systems abused enough times to stay away from it, unless there is a detection system put in-place before-hand.

Right, but if they don’t betray you how does 343i distinguish between accidental friendly fire and intentional? A votekick system is a fine idea, but it usually leads to even more toxic behaviors and attitudes. I’d rather have the occasional teamkilling griefer than have every game be 13 year olds screaming at each other for sucking and spamming votekicks on each other and me.

This is definitely an issue. I had a similar issue happen to me today. It’s bad enough that we are barely getting into matches, why do people feel the need to betray people on their team.

They should instead enjoy the fact that they can get into matchmaking.

I am late to this but since 343 still hasnt decided to fix this but a simple way would be damage count, if they down full shields on their own atleast 2-3 times to their own team it should be enough, plus this also prevents teammates who spam grenades while you are near the enemy just to nick a kill lol or makes people overall more careful around others

Please don’t revive 6 year old topics thanks
