Can we either see those who purposely betray teammates find themselves in a locked playlist where they can only play with other team killers for a set amount of time for the amount of betrayals they make in a given amount of time, and or see those that are betrayed not have this death count towards their overall death ratio? Or if there is another way to make it more amicable to all involved?
its called report button. use it, love it
report doesnt do anything. it will not ban the user account and/or penalize the user in anyway. all it will do is lower the reputation and adds a “bad reputation on their profile” nothing more. as far they can get is a temporary ban of communication with mic or messages. thats pretty much it. do your research and you’ll see why nothing happens whe you report people like this.

Actually, reports do eventually have an effect on matchmaking. People with red reputation tend to only match with other red reppers. And as team killing is unsportsmanlike, it’s totally legitimate to report betrayers. Due to the nature of the reputation system, it takes many legitimate reports before action is taken, but this means that repeat offenders are eventually penalized. It also means that the accidental betrayal and the occasional betrayers probably won’t get penalized.
i truly understand that, one report will not take an immediate effect like you mention in which thats what i was trying to say. only after more and more reports will take an action like you said. its very obvious that after 2-3 consecutive betrayals will give an option to kick out the player. now for accidental betrayals i truly agree with you monitor.

I’ve done my research, I know the code of conduct. I was an XBL ambassador for some time. However not always effective, reporting is literally the only legal thing you can do against people like this. Report, mute, block and hope you don’t get match with them again. Oh and just an FYI if an account comes under 10 communication suspensions it can and will be permanently banned from XBL. So reporting does do something. Its just not immediate. If more people actually reported rather than complain that the report does nothing you would see more progress.
I know that we all hate team killers. Trying to steal out weapon or playing the game none seriously.

It would be great if we could have it better explained how Microsoft works with the reports. Do they look at each account and check if the player has broken the ToS or do they take actions when a player has got more than 1 ticket send for that action. Quality or Quantity?
well, it has happened before, it happens now and it will happen in the future but there seems to be no more effective thing to do than reporting them from unsporting conduct. Given that the betrayal is done purposefully and not accidentally. Though if we say that someone kills for the sniper rifle for example and picks the said rifle up, the player could get immediately kicked or something similar like that. And the spartan charging and other continuous weakening of other players shields in hopes that the other player could get killed could become punishable (like meleeing other player and giving their position away to the other team).
“What’s the matter, Arbiter? Afraid of my little hammer?”
I have been experiencing this a lot more lately and have been using the Report feature frequently. It seems like almost every couple of games I get quitters, betrayers, or people just generally griefing (e.g. a teammate will toss a grenade putting you to one-shot, and then you get cleaned up by the enemy, and there’s no actual “betrayal”). 343 should do a better job of handling this sort of thing.
I’m not sure there’s really anything 343 can do. It’s pretty hard to tell an accident from a legit betrayal unless you’re actually in the game. And even then it can be hard to tell.
The moral of the story is play with a group of friends as much as possible.

In some circumstances, sure. However, you should be able to check two behavior patterns fairly easily, and there’s no need to be “in-game” as I’m sure damage is already recorded in a discrete data field on the servers. After all, that’s the only way they can calculate who killed who the most, who did the most damage, accuracy rates, etc. That is, they already have all this information readily available. So…
- Who did damage first?
- Who did the most damage?
If a player is consistently damaging his teammates’ health first, this should set off some flags on the account. If a teammate does most of the damage multiple times in a game to a teammate, this should likewise result in some flag for further scrutiny. So when that person ends up actually betraying someone they get a more immediate ban rather than waiting for some number of betrayals.
I’m just saying all the data necessary is already available on the Halo servers.
