Team Killing/Shooting For Weapons Has To Stop

You start the match and half the team runs for the Sniper. As soon as you pick it up you have three teammates firing at you just so they can have it. Sometimes they’ll just stand in front of you and make you shoot them by accident and get booted. I know this has all happened to us. It’s probably the most annoying thing I’ve ever experienced in a game and I’m sure ya’ll feel the same way. It makes me and a lot of other players not want to play Halo at all anymore because it happens EVERY game! And I’ve tried to just play rumble pit for a while, but it’s just not the same as working as a Team. Anyways what I’m trying to say is can we please, for the love of the Forerunners, stop Team Killing/Shooting for power weapons. You will destroy this community if you continue!! You know who you are…

Play with a team that will not take your weapons. There is no way to stop players wanting power weapons.

Of course not, but there are still other solutions. For example, if someone gets betrayed, their weapons immediately despawn. Then you have to wait for that weapons spawn timer to expire. There will still be those with the “if I can’t have it, no one can” attitude, but it might still help mitigate the problem a bit.

Agreed. The betraying has to stop. The correct way to obtain the sniper rifle is to wait for an enemy to injure him first THEN go for the kill.

Nice solution.

Why not just submit a Player Review for that person and avoid playing with them in the future? I also like to take the time and send that person a message telling them exactly why I gave them a bad review.

I think its more to do with the overarching problem of team cohesion. There should be at least workable team cohesion, even with randoms. With reach there is not. As it is now i usually end up feeling more animosity towards my own team for being useless/stupid/greifers, than i do for the enemy team.

I hope to god halo 4 addresses this trend somehow.

I wouldn’t mind a total elimination of friendly fire. It would make things a lot less annoying. Some playlists could leave it in of course, like Grifball.

Because it’s a well-known fact that player reviews and complaints do absolutely nothing.

This.

Without friendly fire players will just splatter you for the sniper rifle.

It will always happen, and it will always be annoying.

I hate it when my teammate shoots his assualt rifle at me. Poorly.

What really annoys me is when a team mate intentionally kills me for my weapon, but I don’t even get given an option to boot them for betrayal…I accidentally run over a team mate and it’s instant kick.

I take it you’ve never been on the wrong end of a long-shot Wraith mortar or rocket in a BTB match. In small matches like Super Slayer and MLG, this makes some sense, since most betrayals are probably intentional, but this is absolutely horrendous in BTB, where friendly fire is more likely via explosive ordinance.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a guy mortar the rockslide area in Hemorrhage to clear out Blues and ended up killing the red sniper by mistake. Now we lost our sniper and no one nearby can go recover it. This would be even worse in Heavies, where we could accidentally have a sniper get killed by a rocket guy by mistake.

Betraying is a part of halo. I don’t want it to leave. :frowning:

If they betray me and I get the option to boot I have No sympathy for them. After the game I send a message stating “betraying can lead to being booted”

I think they learned that first-hand if you did boot them

It’s not to say hey I booted you, it’s to state that hey if you didn’t know that betraying can lead to that…well now you do. Please use caution in the future.

I have a story that is relative.
So I’ve been using my gaming time recently to start and finish the Arkham series and last night I hope on for some BTB.
My 3rd game had me start into a lobby with a player on my team, who is in a party of 4, complaining about the powerups and specialistions being added, and how they are for nOObs to help them play.
Then the game starts, go figure it’s a game of Hemorrhage, and honestly no one else goes for the Wraith within the short window of time I allow to see players disperse in directions that let me know they have a plan. So I sprint over and grab.
I throw out 3 shots right away to the enemy teleporter and as I am moving to line up base shots, I get PP’ed from the same guy complaining about nOObs needing crutches and how most players don’t know how to play the game. He proceeds to shoot me for 2 min with the PP and then his DMR (nice and slowly), until he gets capped by the enemy sniper.
He then spawns and comes after me with a fresh PP and stickies where I am now protecting our teleporter hill (we’re red btw).
So now I’ve got about 7 kills in the Wraith about 5 min into the match and the only damage I’ve taken is from my teammate. After being capped a 2nd time, he comes at me, to which I am close to the enemy teleporter by now, and his antics allow the enemy to board and melee the vehicle to bits.

Now I let it slide and let him grab the Wraith next time. He proceeds to attack the base head on and gets laced by sniper and DMR fire from the enemy cave the moment he crosses into their sights, and he’s looking at the base. He then proceeds to ask how he died so fast in a Wraith from DMR fire when he exposed his backside to a sniper and DMR’s, and didn’t even know he was sniped as well.
And now he’s now calling the other team a bunch of cheaters and nOObs while I’m on mute so he doesn’t hear me call him the names I feel are proper at that moment from earlier.

I really don’t know what he was doing when not in the Wraith (other than shooting me at the beginning) and by the end of the game, I have 19 or so kills, he’s got 6 and he’s mad at everyone else for relying on crutches and cheating.

… Now to the point, a better way to report players that act in such ways would be nice. A specific team-harasser option that hopefully can be used with some game data that can be used to confirm such violations as killing or softening for weapons OR vehicles.

You pretty much have to play with some friends to enjoy this game. If not stick to Rumble Pit or you will probably break a few controllers.
