Team Killing / Booting

In every single Halo game you at least see your own teammates kill you or someone else on the team sometime…
You could just get betrayed by your teammate like 2 times, when you get tired of it you betray him and YOU get booted.
Also sometimes your grenade accidentally blows up your teammate or your rocket kills him.

I beg 343 to disable friendly fire. If it was disabled, you could shoot at your teammate and he would never die. If your in a situation where your grenade is thrown towards the enemy and your teammate goes towards the enemy, he wont die by his own teams fire. Also the people that betray for fun can no longer ruin games, Also when its an accident and you still have to wait like 15secs to respawn… gawd -Yoink!-.
Still, pushing your teammates with a ghost or whatever is still there. I hate when I get betrayed and can’t boot him, but when I kill him he boots me right after.
I think disabling friendly fire is what the multiplayer games have been needing for a while.

No. It should stay. just because you can’t control your grenades apparently EVERY game, or can’t cope with people who try to kill you (personally, I kill them twice, let them kill me the third time and boot them), but just because you can’t handle it, doesn’t mean they should take it away.

Of the few things Halo 4 did right, it was turning friendly fire off. Nothing pissed me off more than getting a sniper and immediately being betrayed by some bratty child.

I think some of that betraying for weapons has gone away. Idk. Maybe it will be off for warzone and on for regular games.

Considering the REQ system means you’re using points/cards to actually get your weapons, I would actually be in favor of this compromise.

This is the real issue with team killing. Most people arent upset when a team fight ends in their death because of a bad grenade. Its the players who actively decide to kill those with power weapons that is annoying

I find it necessary. Sure, its beyond annoying to be killed by a teammate because he/she ran you over because you didn’t look both ways…or simply beat you down because you got to the sniper rifle first, but without it, grenades would be spammed without care. Rockets would fill corridors, and energy swords swung wildly until they eventually hit something. We need friendly fire to keep the players smart. You know?

Keep friendly fire on. I need to teach my teammates if they take my assassination.

In which Halo game has this ever been prevented? Because going through the older MP’s again in MCC, this is still a issue, especially on smaller maps like Warlock.

Ohhhh your one for revenge I see?

Anyways, I don’t know about this. I get mad when I play H:CE and theres a buncha noobs on teamkilling and you can do nothing about it. I also don’t like when they blow up your teams vehicles in games like BTB. So idk what to do about this

Its really a -Yoink!- if you do, -Yoink!- if you dont situation. I can settle for either one. Its really annoying to go for an assassination, then be betrayed by a team mate. But when friendly fire is on, you have to be more careful with grenades.

No. Turning off Friendly Fire encourages explosive spam. You may be pissed off when a teammate kills you for a power weapon but nothing infuriates me more then when I’m wrecking a guy close range and his teammates spam grenades or rockets or something else into the room which kill me and leave him alive.

It needs to stay on in Arena. Warzone is more understandable with req packs and all, but removing friendly fire from competitive play is just stupid.

-getting killed because you got the power weapon
-nuked by teammates grenade
-booted because it wasn’t your fault or it was an accident
-blown up/shot till your vehicle is about dead because you got the tank/banshee first
-you being able to boot other teammates because of an accident they did (which some players boot for no reason or just have the chance to)
this can all be avoided if it was turned off. Just make it so you can’t damage your teammates. simple fix and nice teamplay. I don’t understand why it would still be on. Someone said it would teach your teammate(s), no because you can kill them on purpose or accident and get kicked and… so much problems if it was still on

grenade spam was always a thing, FF enabled or not.
it’d rather be stupid to keep it off and allow -Yoinks!- to steal their own team mates weapons
or groups of two and more who don’t do anything else than killing them selves again & again.

ff needs to be removed.

I thought 343 said its on for Arena but off for Warzone? Arena is supposed to be competitive which is why its on to penalize you for mistakes or bad grenades.

Warzone its turned off to prevent someone from stealing a REQ you may have possible earned through real currency.

I heard this as well.

Yes, off in Warzone.

> Friendly Fire is turned off in this mode to prevent any jerkfaces from killing their teammates and stealing their REQ equipment. Who would do such a thing? Lots of people.

It’s your fault for playing with randoms/sucky people.

Don’t make everyone who wants the game to be competitive suffer just because you won’t make an effort to put a group together who won’t team kill you. And maybe stop throwing grenades and shooting rockets near your teammates.

I’m not a real competitive type of player, hell, I usually laugh at them and especially eSports. But friendly fire needs to stay. I know more than anyone the frustration of grabbing a sniper then your trash team mate spamming grenades at you or using their noobtastic Boltshot. But I feel it makes it far more enjoyable and real. I don’t like playing games where there is no Friendly Fire, it just feels wrong with your rounds just phasing through your buddies back. But when there is a resistance, for example when you accidentally hit your buddy in the back and their shields flare up, you know to correct your shot.

But you know, this is just my opinion, and I would be sad to see it go like it did in Halo 4. (ps, I’m also really glad they put Friendly Fire back in Halo 4 MCC)

Awesome find. Thank you!
