Team Infinity Slayer ruined by Boltshot?

Is it just me or does it seem like in IS that the boltshot is causing the flow of the game to be slow and about hiding. Its not a huge deal because I like Slayer Pro, but from what I’ve seen the only two weapons in the sandbox that isnt balanced is the Boltshot and the DMR. Maybe the boltshot shouldnt have one shot kill potential just drop your shields like the plasma pistol.
Thoughts?

if you chase around corners you deserve to get blown away. hit that prom-vision and see they are waiting for you, dont chase.

just simple situational awareness.

Its one thing to know they’re there. And you should be penalized for chasing, but when it comes down to it the ability to spawn with it just slows down the gameplay. It should be a pick up weapon.

tip always check corners.

Also majority of people i’ve seen miss their shots, if you see a dude that has it just back-pedal =P.

The Boltshot is really powerful, yeah. But honestly, it’s not really much worse than the Melee Attack has been since Halo 3.

For the love of god, 343i. THREE HIT KILL Melees. PLEASE.

The only time I’ve been killed by it is because i didn’t realize how quickly it charges, but it’s not that hard to counter.

Yup. I’ve been wrecking people with it in Regicide. I agree the only 2 weapons I think are OP are the boltshot and DMR.

The Boltshot’s a nice weapon; however, I will admit that at times it gets a bit annoying when you are repeatedly blasted away by it’s charged-up shot. I personally prefer the Magnum.

I’m starting to think the Boltshot’s Charged Shotgun blast should remove the whole clip instead of just half.

lol Not everyone has their playstyle geared towards using Promethean Vision though. Some like to use Thrusters, Jetpack, Regen Field and even the odd player using Auto Sentry. You’re telling me we no choice but to use Pro Vision? Boltshot is over-centralizing the meta, that’s not balance.

i dont use prom vision myself, i usually use invis. its just clearly a mistake to chase people around corners when the boltshot is in play. just nade and move on.

I think the use of the Boltshot certainly slows gameplay down, but it (nor anything else in the game) has ruined anything.

And other things like two starting grenades, frequent power weapon ordinance, the lack of friendly fire, and balance issues here and there… well all these things as a collective indirectly discourage strategic gameplay.

I can honestly contest that I have been killed by the charge shot of the Bolt Shot from a longer range than close range.

I would like it to have it’s charge shot damaged nerfed so it would only strip shields and allow it to follow up with a quick shot from the bolt shot in the head or any of your favorite clean up weapon. Or the Charge shot damage could just Strip shields and so minor damage to health so it would feel pretty powerful but giving the opponent fighting against it a chance to fight back.

Applying the nerf would in my opinion make fighting them with the AR less frustrating. (Yes I do primarily like to use the AR in my loadouts, I’m crazy)

Also I would like to comment that I do agree that the DMR seems to be a little too powerful compared to other weapons. Personally I think a slight rate of fire nerf would be the only beneficial options to this situation. I don’t think a buff to the BR would make the problem go away as it would mean that other weapons would need to be brought in line for these two weapons kill times. Would make my time using automatic weapons a little less difficult. (Again, yes I’m a fully automatic heretic. Let the automatic weapon I carry be my mark of shame)

I would comment on armor abillities and my personal opinions on how they could be tweaked a little in a title update but this thread is neither the time nor place for it.

Abridged Version: Bolt shot charge shot nerf, Slight DMR firing rate nerf, and I am a fully automatic weapons user. (Prepares to get stoned(The bad kind of stoning to be exact))

Not even, this thing can take you out beyond point blank range. It wouldn’t be as bad if that was the case but i’ve been psuedo sniped by staying away (well aware of the Bolshot abuse) and dying as result.

I can vouch for you that happened to me a few time as well.

So you advocate Promethean Vision but use invisibility? Go back to CoD, man. We need less people using the -Yoink- AA’s that require no skill and slowing the game down. Again, take your campy invis gameplay back to CoD.

Boltshot needs a nerf, and Promethean Vision has to be removed from the Multiplayer completely.

Boltshot needs a serious looking at, it seems that you might be able to get TK’ed by someone using it and not have a boot option, causing people to exploit it.
