The biggest thing I’ve found was pick your games wisely.
I’ve had some awesome close games but I’ve also had a lot of games where me and my friend got totally stomped on. So I checked their service records and, surprise surprise, they were no-lifers with 12-20 days played and and have a 30-40k kills with 20-10k deaths.
So what I do now is check their records in pre-game lobby, if their K/D is significantly higher than me, I as the party leader, just back out until I get matched against more similarly skilled players.
I’m saying this because I feel their trueskill matchmaking settings are garbage and I want people to have decent games.
I agree about the Trueskill system being garbage. Today I played team doubles for a few hours and had quite a few good games. One game was totally unfair as we obliterated the other team. But another game wasn’t fair against us. These people knew the map, the spawn times, where we would spawn and everything. They would also camp at the back (Abandon) and just have a constant feed of sniper ammo. It’s unfortunate but at least it wasn’t like that all the time.
There are a few things you should do in-game while in a match. It got me and my teammate’s -Yoink- saved a few times doing this.
Communicate. I know it’s sounds a little stupid for how many players out there don’t plug in their mic’s, but just do it anyways. Your teammate can still co-operate with you even though they can’t respond. Keep doing your call-outs to him and call the targets you killed (ex: “Yo, I killed the one with the Railgun.”)
Stay together. Going One-Man-Army throughout the entire match is going to get you ganged up on. With your teammate, you pack the necessary firepower you need to win.
Take a friend if you can. Both of you know each other better than randoms.

TrueSkill is per playlist. You don’t have an overall skill that gets used for every playlist.
The very best and very worst players are all equal in a brand new playlist. In the beginning you can get very lucky or very unlucky.
not sure if it was just every match I was playing, the other team never had headsets. Me and my friend switched out of our usual party chat to game chat so we can talk to our opponents in the pre game lobby. In one match, me and my friend did so bad (ending score 300-30) we just started -Yoinking!- around and playing hide and go seek, trying not to be found by the opposing team. When the game ended, on the loading screen to get back into to lobby, some guy on the other team said “I couldn’t find you guys!” then he wasn’t in the lobby anymore. Was it maybe that he just put it in? This happened multiple times in different matches of team doubles.
i found myself doing this simply because of how unbalanced MM can be. The games ththat ere were competitive were the games where all 4 plays had similar K/D’s.
Also, I found myself straying away from infinity bc it just to chaotic

Just because someone plays Halo 4 a lot and has over 10,000 kills, does not make them a no-lifer. I have played 8 days of Halo 4 and have 16,000 kills, yet it is difficult for me to get online because of college. I’m not a no-life and I meet part of your description. A better description of a no-lifer is someone who has played like 25-30 days of Halo 4 and has over 50,000 kills (and trust me, there ARE people out there who hold those stats).

This what you really need to know. If you don’t have a mic, then you don’t belong in Team Doubles. Communication is paramount to winning this game type.
How does everyone feel about instant respawn in TD? I think it needs to be moved back to a 5-second spawn time.

I only call players that ‘have no life’ that have played 20 or more days of playtime.

I know how it works, I to, have read the post from BS angel. But I still feel it’s not good enough. I’ve played a heck of a lot of games in Infinity Slayer and still get matched up against players that have incredibly high K/D.

I’m not calling you a no lifer. I’m calling people who have four times my kills no lifers. I have 13k kills, and I’ve seen a lot of players with 30-40k kills with 20k or less deaths.
