TEAM doubles suggestions

I stick with Team Doubles every night. The maps seem to be heavily weighted towards forge maps and it seems very generic when playing. The classic map Reflection almost NEVER comes up. Here are a couple of suggestions that would accommodate lovers of forge maps and then the rest of us.

On each voting screen, give at least 1 forge map and 1 regular map. Alternatively, make maps on the first selection screen either all forge or all regular, if the vote is none of the above then do the opposite on the next selection screen. Also, bring back Sword Base to Team Doubles. One of my favorite maps and it got yanked. If people don’t want to play there they can simply vote it down. At least give us the choice.

option 1: non-forged map
option 2: forged map
option 3: forged map

and then the next screen could be opposite

That would work. It’s insanely frustrating to get 2 map selection screens full of forge maps. Even more frustrating when you just chose none of the above and then the same maps come up again!

Different folks, different strokes. I’m sure there are a lot of people like me that loved Sword Base in doubles. If you hated it so much, argue for changes to it and not for its total removal from matchmaking.

You lost me at reflection.

As long as the Forge maps aren’t bad, I personally could care less about the Forge choices. For example, the current Asylum and Pinnacle should be swapped out for MLG Sanctuary and Altitude.

Some maps just don’t play well in Doubles, partly due to size and to competitive aspects. The maps that shipped with Reach are limited for 2v2: Countdown and Zealot are the most viable, while Reflection and Powerhouse are on the verge of being too large. Both Sword Base and Powerhouse currently have biased starting spawns: in both cases, Red Team gets the best shot at power weapons.

Noble and Defiant didn’t provide anything for 2v2 maps save Anchor 9, which does require tweaking. Anniversary was better with Battle Canyon, Damnation and Prisoner which are integrated into Doubles, but only if all the players have Anniversary.

Doubles, like Arena, need more competitive maps and settings, even forged ones, to improve.

there should be better settings and map specific weapons like on mlg, not the same with less ammo, it so so dum
