Team DLC gameplay

Is it just me or is there a sudden increase of Promethean vision, team grouping, power weapon hoarding, and overall “noobish” tactics in Team DLC?

I was excited to finally be able to play the DLC I bought and yet I have not seen the traits in gameplay as stated above. I happen to see everyone is using Promethean vision along with a BR or DMR like always with the entire team controlling the main power weapon spawn and crouching in corners.

The main gametype is infinity, you expected otherwise?

Those are actually the tactics of more experienced players. Noobs would be the ones running around randomly and charging you while you slaughter them.

Love this playlist! Sucks you’ve run into a bunch of pro vision users. shouldn’t even be in the game. Try using the stealth support upgrade

I can understand the frustration from ProVision, but the other two, that’s the nature of the game. There’s nothing wrong with that.

My big issue is with Camo and Jetpack users. I ran into a team earlier today that were all using one or the other…well one had Thruster now that I remember. I kept playing against them, even though, most of my teammates would quit due to us getting slaughtered left and right. They just kept getting the upperhand early on in the game, and it was difficult, if not near impossible, to come back. Once they get those POD’s with Saws and OS’s forget about it!

I wanted to get a good solid game against them, but it just wasn’t my day today. I don’t blame them for the tactics they use. Hey it worked for them. I was more frustrated with myself. I was making bad decisions, and getting more and more frustrated that it hurt my game considerably. I know I was on par with those guys, but I was running around getting mad and trying to hunt them down. That is never a good idea, especially against a team.

It’s not the DLC playlist that brings Camo, Jetpack, and Promo out it is the game itself. There are definitely times like today when I wonder why I keep playing. It wasn’t fun. That fact was compounded by the knowledge and evidence that perhaps without Camo and Jetpack my team and I might have had more of a chance. I want to stress “might” here, because a well organized team can really tear through some unorganized randoms.

On a side note, I did gg message them all, and a couple of them responded in kind. I propositioned them to some real team matches without AA’s or POD’s. No response as of yet. I sure hope they do. I would like to see how they are without all the IS gameplay.

So wait acquiring better weapons and working with your team is a noobish tactic. Well now I know, from now on I’ll just run in a straight line at the enemy and die.

Good man. #CSR10forlife

Power weapon control is crucial to success in Halo. Any time camping in a corner can be easily blown to pieces with the rocket that spawned while he was sitting there crouching. PV is a side effect of the imbalances in infinity slayer, but at the same time it counters campers decently enough I guess.

So…until February 3rd we can actually play on maps that we paid for on a daily basis in matchmaking?

So…what happened to playing these maps on a daily playlist without worrying that it is only around for a limited amount of time?

Hmmm…

What if we extended PV’s range a bit and limited it to only detecting stationary enemies?

Looking forward to jumping into the DLC maybe later today. It’s a shame the way DLC is implemented currently. Whenever you get one (newer map) to pop up in the staple playlists I can barely believe it.

don’t forget there are acheivments linked to getting kills with PV and AC active in one of the map packs (majestic?)

Thank you for the responds everyone.

Regarding tactics Halo 4 is the only Halo game that I have experienced people relying on power weapons far too much. I understand power weapon hoarding is crucial in some aspect but that does not take skill. I have played Halo since its debut in 2001 and sure there is the always present map control but that within itself does not justify spawn killing and power weapon hoarding.

I am all up for team strategies but when that strategy consists of heavily relying on power weapons and team shooting because you will die if alone with a default weapon that is when the true lack of skill shows.

Todays games were a bit different, more players would stick as a team but would not chicken out and run back to their team from a duel if encountered. Also not so many people weapon hoarding. I guess it was just a misfortune to go against some people.

Why would you continue to engage in a fight that you are losing. That’s just ridiculous. You should always attempt to team shot and avoid 1 v 1s. Pro player Roy once said a good player wins his 1 v 1s, but a great player avoids them all together. But clearly one of the best pro players in the game since 2007 and national champion is wrong.

A smart player will damage the enemy and if he/she can’t get the kill will retreat, allowing their team mate to clean them up. Why would I let the enemy kill me when I could simply let my team mate help me.

As far as power weapons go there just another part of the game. They will always exist in Halo and if you want to win especially against good teams then learn how to control them. Because if you don’t control the power weapons the other team will.

None of these tactics are noobish, they’re the tactics of a winning team.

I’d rather have it make enemies semi-visible through walls but light up people using camo like damn christmas trees. The opposite of what it does now. Also decrease the range to something like 20m, it shouldn’t exceed your radar range. That way PV is an anti-camper/camo AA instead of an overpowered radar buff.
