Team Core playlist

I wish the Team Core playlist from a few weeks ago on social was a regular. I’m platinum in Arena and sometimes it takes a while to even get a game (population down?). Plus if I have a buddy that’s not my rank even longer. Really enjoy those 4 on 4 objective games. They are awesome! Team core is a perfect alternative and we’d be in games quick. I really think it should be a staple in social as it’s a core game type of Halo and a perfect place to warm up before hitting Arena Ranked. Please bring it back.

I don’t think it could support a healthy population.

It’s a featured rotational playlist and unfortunately it’s popularity wasn’t great when it was available so it’ll stay a rotational. 343 mentioned that if it’s popularity maintained good numbers throughout its initial 2-week featured spotlight that they’d consider making it permanent, but that didn’t happen.

Ah, gotcha. Wish they could at least add a couple objective types to social quick play. Instead of just slayer and weight them lower or something. Anyways, thanks for the info guys.

Yeah, I was a major advocate for adding Coliseum CTF, Plaza Strongholds, and Truth Oddball to the Quickplay playlist, but 343i responded that non-slayer based objective modes have a history of reduced popularity in comparison to playlists that are solely focused on a slayer based objective. Therefore, they don’t want to risk jeopardizing the current popularity of Quickplay by adding non-slayer based objectives.

While I understood that non-slayer based objectives have a history of reduced popularity I disagreed that adding a limited number of modes to the Quickplay playlist would negatively impact the popularity and purpose of that particular playlist. I contended that a playlist with such a limited offering already (1 mode, 3 maps) would likely see some popularity improvement by adding a tiny bit more variety while maintaining the map memorization ease (4 modes, 3 maps). And since the non-slayer based objectives have navigation points giving simple instruction as to the goal the modes shouldn’t be very confusing for newcomers; plus, these modes are somewhat considered “core” modes to Halo 5 so it makes some thematic sense to add them to the Quickplay playlist too. But in the end, they have their reasons and I cannot fault them too heavily for playing it save. At least the social BTB playlist offers players an outlet to enjoy some non-slayer based objectives without the HCS settings which is a helpful draw to that particular playlist IMO.
