ok, say you and i are on seperate teams. neither of us want to be on the team we’re on. you press a button, (“x”, maybe?) which lights up some sort of beacon next to your name that indicates “player wishes to change teams”. if a player on the opposing team wishes to change teams as well, and sees the beacon, that player presses X as well, and they switch places. thoughts?
no, you cant just change whenever you want. only in pre-game, and only if a player on the other team wants to change as well. theres really no downside to it, its just there for players who want to use it.
No. I can’t see that working at all. The only reason you’d want to change teams would be if you were losing, and nobody would want to swap sides anyway.

I am not sure this would work in matchmaking, since the teams are organized based on skill level. Players switching teams during the game would just create imbalance.

O RLY?
description of a game i played once: 2k people playing SWAT. i choose Skill as search restriction. no psych profile. match found, me and 2 privates and a warrant officer against 2 nobles, a forerunner, and a hero

And having you switch teams in that example would create an imbalance, wouldn’t it?
Also, considering a lot of people go into groups, I doubt people would want to change teams often.
Plus, I can see it being used to get the “better spawn” a lot. Or someone who’s in a group switch teams to troll the other team and help out their group.
The only reason I could see that being used for would be if the MM system is like Battlefield where your party is put on opposite teams 98% of the time, and Halo has never been that flawed.
I can understand a player who is losing/disagreeing with his team-mates wanting to change teams… but what makes you think the opposing team member would want to trade what he’s got for that?
Your exactly right too. To add to that, some people might be into the game and not paying attention to the notification. Even though i said this, doesn’t mean that the idea is dumb, it’s still good to ask questions and see what people think.

Could also be good for when teams become unbalanced due to quits, allow a player to join the opposite team.
