Team balancing is horrendous!

I am currently SR59 (I know rank means nothing before I get flamed)
The -Yoink!- system always sticks me on teams with new players when I play Infinity Slayer and then pits us against teams of people who are SR100+

Was no balancing equation added into this game? I mean even Reach had a better balancing system.

Balancing is determined by how well you do, not how high your SR rank is. Think of it as an invisible rank that goes up when you do well and goes down when you do poorly. That is what determines who you play with.

Like you said, your SR rank means absolutely nothing except for how much time you have played.

This has been the case since Reach… I quit playing Reach (far into it’s life) because of the sorry -Yoink- teammates that would get stuck with me. I think the game is trying to say I suck when the majority of the time I am the only one doing well. The same goes for H4.

Even though that is what 343i is telling us, I don’t believe they have an invisible ranking system in order to match us up better. It’s more like, “Oh this game needs 3 more to join! Let’s stick a player and his 2 guests in!”

While it does certainly seem that the team balancing is off, it may very well be the result of a full-team-party vs a team of randoms. Full teams communicate and work together, whereas randoms put together will invariably run off to lone-wolf the map, and get slaughtered.

That said, I will add that I have regularly been paired up with randoms that consistently perform below me. I don’t know if the Trueskill isn’t working to its potential, or if it’s just a terrible luck of the draw.

the hidden true skill of a SR 120 can be the same as a SR 33.

If one is 130 it can simply mean they bought 200 double xp matches, and then played nothing but SPOPS with fast track on.

SR literally doesnt mean squat

Also I played many a game of reach where I, a nova, got teamed up with warrent officers. Reach was no better.

There is no team balancing, it cant even count let alone balance. Ive had games all day that started 7-4 or 6-3 and the like. If the games netcode can’t do even teams, then its no where near worth the money spent on it. Who ever wrote is must be a complete amateur, because that kind of thing is a rookie error.

I feel like there is a skill level matching system behind the scenes, but that’s its extremely crude. I think to put it into 1-50 terms it most likely matches up players ranked from like 15-25 with players ranked as high as 35-40. I don’t know how much that describes what I mean though since some people on here probably didn’t play the 1-50 system though, but to put it in perspective the 1-50 ranking system only matched up players within 7 numbers of each other usually.

There DEFINITELY is a balancing system. It isn’t based off of SR rank, either.

In Reach, I would constantly destroy other people, because I would always be matched up with scrubs.

Now, I get tryhards every game in Halo 4. This is a better system, although getting -Yoink–y commendations is a -Yoink-.

Edit: Accidentally bypassed the word filter, lol
