Your Spartan Level means nothing more than how much xp you have acrued, not your skill. The matchmaking is based on your hidden Competetive Spartan Ranking (csr). Since you are only levels 1 and 2 your first bunch of games will probably feel shoddy since the system is trying to figure you out. Don’t ask how the system works, please.

Yeah the ranks are rarely even across both teams. Playing solo is horrible.
Update: 30 mins later I don’t know why I’m still bothering tbh. 2 onyx, a diamond and a plat on their team vs 2 plats, a gold and an unranked on my team?!
