I played a game last night that included players from ranks Silver to Diamond. The winning team had 2 Diamonds. It was CTF on Truth. The the score was 3 to 2 but the losing team got inialated in terms of k/d.
Is this an issue with matchmaking or can anyone clarify what would cause this?
Inialated huh? lol…just giving you a hard time.
K/D in objective games doesn’t really matter. If you die a lot but are able to get the flag out of the base and slowly get the flag back to your base, K/D is irrelevant. In my opinion, people have become waaaayyyyy too obsessed with K/D. Believe it or not, there was a time in Halo when hardly anyone mentioned K/D…you just played the game to win.
That said, I may be wrong, but I think the ranking system sometimes pits you against higher-ranked opponents from time to time to better judge your skill. If you go against higher-ranked opponents, the system expects you to lose. How you lose better gauges your rank/skill/ability. If you win, it’s a big boost to your rank, and if you lose close, it’s a very small loss (or could be a small gain?). I’m sure there have been games where you were ranked against lower players too.
It could just be that the matchmaking system couldn’t find many players within your CSR range and had to widen the search scope in order to create a match.
