From what I can see, the forum team would need to install some sort of Tapatalk plugin on the YAF forum software in order for it to appear on the app.
However, I don’t see it happening. The forums (and site in general) is already mobile optimized. It resizes automatically on mobiles.
Tapatalk is great, I’d love to see Waypoint modified for it.

Automatic resizing doesn’t necessarily make a site mobile-compatible. Loading times and memory limitations are two big factors that come to mind.
Granted, I’m still a bit of a novice when it comes to doing anything for mobile, so I don’t know if this is still relevant, but: It’s generally a good idea to have a version of the site that is specifically targeted to mobile user agents, with fluff like large backgrounds and unnecessary JavaScript stripped out. The layout should also be quick to navigate; the less scrolling needed to get to the actual content of the page, the better. Waypoint doesn’t appear to do any of this: it’s serving the same page to desktop and mobile browsers.

It also uses the size of the viewing window to judge whether it’s being viewed on a mobile or desktop browser. To go to the mobile view on a desktop, all you need to do is shrink the window.

There’s actually a Mobile Forum Theme option on mobiles in the User CP, under Edit Profile. Problem is, the save and cancel button on that page don’t work, they are just images.
The ability to use Tapatalk would be AWESOME. Especially for moderating on the go.

I don’t see any such option when viewing on desktop. Does it only show up for mobile?
If the buttons don’t work, it’s probably because they’re JavaScript calls rather than real buttons or hyperlinks. My 3DS chokes on the site’s JavaScript apparently due to memory limitations; maybe other mobile devices have the same issue.

Only shows up on Mobile devices. I tried resizing my browser and then visiting the page hoping it would show up on desktop but no luck.
