Like several other players, I find that Scorpions and Wraiths are some of the greatest vehicles in the game and are a ton of fun to operate; however, I have noticed that they are quite ineffective in Warzone matches. It seems as though there are too many spots where enemy Spartans can jump out of nowhere and blow up your tank. On top of that, each team could have up to four spawn points so sneaking up behind a vehicle isn’t that hard. In fact, in a Warzone battle on March on Stormbreak an enemy Spartan was camping near the vehicle spawn in the Fortress and immediately boarded my Scorpion, causing it to go up in flames. Depriving the player of REQ points like this could greatly affect the outcome of the match.
What do you guys think, should the Scorpion or Wraith be given a small boost or do you think that they should remain the same?
There are lots of hiding spots to ambush tanks agreed but giving them a buff to counter this would not make any difference. You just have to keep your eyes open
I spawn wraiths because they can’t get boarded as easily. But i have a large stock of scorpions because of how weak they are. I’ve destroyed them alone with various load out weaponry.
I completely agree OP. I managed two killing frenzies with a Scorpion today, but beyond those, usually a couple of kills, then someone drops in on me or spawns next to me and boards me. Don’t even get me started on splinter grenades from across the map…dang vehicle stun timer (seriously feels like days).
I think the balance is great, its very easy to get your tank blown up if you’re near area’s with a lot of cover, so you should try to place your tank far away from the actual firefight and pick people off. I’ve been doing this lately and it works well. Tanks being easy to board means that if you’re getting camped at a spawn you still have a chance to kill the thing. They’re still powerful as hell from a distance, and you can cut off roads easily.

Meh. I just throw a splinter from distance and then your tank is toast… Did it a few times today and the person driving raged a bit. Your strategy is the same I use and yes, it is helpful, but the tanks and wraiths could still use a small bit of maneuverability improvements.
ive yet to drive a single wraith and ive only just recently unlocked the scorpion certification.
i agree that scorpions are too damn slow and easy to kill though. it would be nice if they could take a bit more damage before blowing up, but im kind of okay with it as is because it gives me confidence that i have a chance to take down an enemy heavy vehicle on my own without having to rely on teammates who may be pre-occupied with other things.
as far as getting boarded, yeah that sucks. the right way for your team to play if you’re the one driving the tank would be to have one or two spartans on foot with you to watch out for boarders, but that only works if you’re playing with people you know or if somehow some random on your team is actually smart enough to do that on his or her own.
You’re right, OP. I agree. Though I’d be happy if tanks weren’t vulnerable to small arms. A tank getting shot with a battle rifle and blowing up is rediculous and defeats the point of a tank.
I only really feel like scorpions are really the only tank that is vulnerable. Because the wraith gunner has a good shot and the wraith driver can use a quick burst of speed.

Probably my only complainant as well. I hate it that Spartans can sprint up to me from behind, but for the most part tanks are fairly balanced. Usually I can get a killing spree or more in a tank, and by the time I die I can spawn another one.
I agree. There are too many spawn points around the map and the landscape is cluttered with open spots enemies can dart out of at any given second. Hopefully upcoming Wazone maps will fix this.
You’re damn right they are. Their speed is abysmal even by tank standards, you can almost never see any approaching boarders with the radar, and even if you can its cannon is just so slow to turn and missing is extremely costly.
They are easy to take out but if you have a turret gunner and a second player watching your back they are great weapons. I’ve had driven tanks like that and only got kill in the end by a laser.
