Anyone else having an issue mounting tanks? I had three situations yesterday alone that I tried to mount and never got the option.
Of course got killed looking like a moron each time.
I don’t think it’s so much as an issue, rather that 343 made it harder to hijack/destroy vehicles in general ‘to balance the game’ which is total BS IMO. They’ve also made it so that even if you get slightly tapped by a vehicle you’re instantly killed.

You can hijack a Mantis like its no bother, even when looking more or less head on to it lol.

I am happy I have most of the gun skins.
I am only having this mounting issue with tanks that I can think of. I might record every occurrence because I don’t see why I couldn’t mount a tank at all yesterday. These were the times I remembered to record it happened many more times.

Have you tried mounting it from the front at all? Maybe you can mount Tanks from the back anymore?

I tried front mounting but never got the notice for plant. Forgot to record it though.
It’s frustrating, but they just changed it so you actually have to be fully at the front or back to mount, I have had similar issues being used to mount from off to the side-ish. It is a necessary change in gametypes because of warzone. With so many players on the board they don’t want hard earned req’s getting destroyed too quickly for players. At least this is my theory.

I am ok with that. If you rewatch the videos I am clearly walking against the tanks back in all three cases trying to get the command button.
Yep, those look about right. I personally love reloading my gun rather than jacking a vehicle.

If true that’s quite annoying for me and other Halo veterans, It’s been the same across all other Halos for only 343 to change it - if so then it’s another reason we I’m starting to dislike Halo 5.
I hate ending up in the turret, dont get why would I want to be there anyway, granted I did get a kill from one once.
All the time! Every time I run up to a tank from behind I mash the hijack button and nothing happens! On the other hand every time I get in a tank someone ALWAYS hijacks me before I even know they’re close, like they teleport or something. It’s a -Yoinking!- double standard!
They might fix this eventually…Hopefully

I haven’t seen the clips but all I can think is that someone else has already boarded it, or that there is nobody in the tank, often when I’m about to be hijacked I’ll get out and try my luck beating the enemy.
I’ve only killed one tank since the game launched. I never approach them because I always die. the one kill was my only attempt and I did it, because I could tell the tank had no clue I was near. Same goes for wraiths.
In the clips the reason you cant board the tank from behind is because the driver saw you and got out. Since you cant mount to destroy an empty tank the driver then killed you and got back in.
