When is 343i going to fix something that is obviously not intended?
For those who don’t know, the mechanics behind boarding a tank, planting a grenade in it, and then having a teammate shoot the tank while it’s death exploding resulting in them stealing the kill, complete with them getting a grenade icon for the kill, is completely broken. This also happens whenever you are the person to cause fatal damage to the tank in question. Example, I shoot a rocket at a wraith, it goes down into it’s “exploding” animation to die, and someone shoots it while it’s in a death animation and gets credit instead of you.
This is pretty annoying with other players, but with Tank Master Rok it’s absolutely infuriating. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve lasered Tank Master down so his HP bar was GONE, as in I killed him, and then an enemy sprays him with an SMG as he’s exploding, and has no HP bar, getting them and their team the kill. This is different from normal boss steals as it’s based around a broken mechanic. It’s really getting old with tanks and that this hasn’t been fixed yet means either 1 of 3 things:
- 343i doesn’t care/doesn’t think it’s a priority.
- 343i actually thinks this is a sound mechanic, which is so crazy I can’t honestly believe that.
- 343i can’t adjust/fix tanks so that when the grenade is planted or lethal damage is dealt to a tank, it’s locked in that that person gets the kill. This would be very sad if true and would mean tank killing is pretty much broken, and you should just get ready to spray a tank every time you see it about to get lasered or boarded.
Yeah, that’s pretty annoying. Not to mention when you do 99% of the work and an enemy takes the kill with one bullet. Gears of War had a system where if you did 90% of the damage, you got 90% of the points and whoever did the rest of the damage got the remaining 10% of the points. This is the same system Halo 5/343 should implement so people will be more motivated to work for the bosses.
I’d go with #1 and say it’s not a priority cuz if you ask me it’s not a big deal. So long as you win or can compete with the other team then it shouldn’t matter if you get an A.I kill in a social game.
Yes! This has happened to me (as in, someone stealing the kill when I planted the grenade) and it is REALLY annoying. It’s like getting a boss right down to its last HP, and some kid runs in with an SMG, like you said.
Actually, wraith kill stealing is a tradition since at least Halo Reach.

(I really loved your Chiron TL-34 remake)
crap like this never happens in reach to me atleast probably not to anyone else either AND THAT WAS 5 YEARS AGO. someone correct me if im wrong but ive never had this happen to me in halo reach
What about how a normal scorpion can shoot a corps scorpion 3 times and kill it, the same number of times that any other scorpion besides oni needs to shoot a normal scorpion to kill it. Aren’t the different scorpions supposed to be more durable than the normal version, hence why they are described as having “extra” or “improved” armor???
They probably don’t think it’s a priority, because it’s literally not. Who cares if they get the kill? Get over it.

Are you serious? Did you even read my post? My brain hurts from reading this comment. You’ve never played a warzone match where one boss makes all the difference? It happens frequently. Have you ever played warzone? Have you ever played halo 5??

Wow. Just -Yoinking!- wow. A broken mechanic, which is obviously broken, that results in games being WON or LOST on a daily basis. Is not a priority, and no one should care.
Seriously, are you people not capable of understanding? I’m not complaining that my kills are being stolen, as I’m usually the guy that steals the tank kill! But it IS a broken mechanic, and it SHOULD be addressed.
I understand we live in a time where people just roll over and are complacent with pretty much anything apparently, but not me. Especially when this is a straight up oversight on 343i’s part unless I hear otherwise from them.

This has nothing to do with what I was saying. At all.

I actually agree with this and I think it would be a great idea. The points for a boss kill, especially a legendary worth 150 victory points (which can make or break your match often) should be divided up. If blue team did %70 percent of the damage then they should get that much of the points and red should get the remaining %30 percent. It’s a simple fix really and I think it would improve warzone.

Reach was the only game that this could happen in, and it’s much more blatant in halo 5. It’s easy. But Reach had a ton of other infuriating parts so it’s easy to let that slide when you’re dealing with the crap that is reach in general. And it’s not a damn tradition, you couldn’t do it in anyother halo including 4 that came after and honestly I don’t remember it happening in Reach, but I have no desire to play the worst halo and finding out again.
Honestly people, I’m disappointed. This was a no-brainer thread. The mechanic is broken. All of the responses I’ve gotten have been: Unrelated vehicle whining by people who have no idea what I’m talking about, Comparisons to halo reach, and people straight up saying it’s not a problem and to “deal with it”.
If this is the state of these forums then it truly is a terrible place where there is nothing but 343i apologists, morons, and bad players. I’m gonna go to a different forum, any forum that actually has real halo players in it that are at least sentient. Because this Halo Reach generation of kids just isn’t doing it for me.
