Hey there once again Waypoint goers!
Today i’d like to discuss the marines and spartans that are going to be present in halo 4. In my opinion the marines got less funny and talked a lot less as the games went on, the worst of which was Reach.
Lets look back to Halo CE. Those marines were fantastic, always talking, pointing things out (even if you already knew), but also not overly serious. The atmosphere was perfect, and they spoke at good times: “What the hell, did something just hit us?” (talking to others). They didn’t seem like robots, as they talked among themselves as well.
I’m really hoping for a return of this kind of voice for the marines/spartan 4s. Especially the accents!
Who wants these marines?
I’m more interested in having a specific team to roll with as opposed to random marines. That would just feel better and make more sense.
I would like this team to be rather talkative and informative. Having specific lines that you would expect from the characters. Like, you would expect one character to have some insightful information and the other to crack a joke or be snarky. Otherwise it looks like the UNSC just recruited a bunch of clowns to fight for them.
Either way. I would like to hear more from the marines and surrounding characters. But I don’t want to see too much humor. Pulls me out of the seriousness. Everything’s on the line it’s dark, grim, the universe it at risk.
If you really want humor stick to that godawful Duke Nukem.
The one good feature for the marines was the little squad feature that showed the names of the marines next to the map. Wish that feature would be expanded as well as some new things to say as well.
