So this happened to me last night in Warzone.
First, I’m ran over by a teammate. In the respawn screen, I select a random REQ loadout and try to respawn - only to be instantly killed by an NPC boss (and I mean instantly). At least this confirms there is no spawn protection in Warzone - should there be?

Loll we do not even see what happened when you respawn. But the thing is you spawn next to a teammate that was probably “safe” when the respawn timer ended, but then you got a new power weapon to respawn with while your teammate was starting to get shot.
NEVER spawn power weapons while respawning.

According to the kill ticker on the left, I got killed by a Wraith gunner. I spawned at the fortress, so I’m guessing it was the Wraith boss that spawns on the balcony below and a mortar just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Damn that is bad luck indeed. I have been sniped a few times only to respawn standing right on top of my dead body and get sniped again in the head before I can take two steps.
I think that boss was spawn killing, dude. That is some terrible luck.
I bought a sniper rifle and spawned sliding down the side of the cliff.

A million spawn points and it chooses to put you right inside a Wraith’s mortar. I feel for you
