Take your damn Warthog, and get the hell out!

If I see one more of you idiots in a fragging Warthog driving around the base in Warzone, I will…well, I can’t betray you, but I sure wish I could. So, I’ll just tip you over with a frag.

For those confused at my aggression, let me explain.
Ever since 343 put a video out during a content update stream, of a guy getting a Killing Spree by splattering people on top the Spire in Warzone, every wannabe MLG -Yoink- has decided to copy that guy. And so, every -Yoink- match, some idiot is driving around in a damn Scout 'Hog. This isn’t really a problem in regular Warzone, but in Warzone Assault it’s a real pain in the -Yoink-. This is because the maps are extremely tight, and the damn Warthog is huge! For every point he gets by splattering, or his gunner gets with the turret, the enemy gets two points from all the easy kills due to the turd in the ‘hog dropping his teammates’ shields. Also, if you’re on Offense, the -Yoink- in the 'hog blocks the damn doorways, and what’s worse, he gets stuck! So now we have a doorway we can’t get through until we blow up that 'hog.

So if you’re a good person, don’t use the -Yoinking!- scout 'hog, and keep your vehicles away from friendlies. We don’t like getting splattered by your stupid -Yoink-.

Lol this guy thinks people driving scout hogs think they’re MLG. This makes my day.

You do realize that scout hogs are an excellent way to stop the other team from capping right? That’s why people do it, because it’s a viable tactic.

I’ve done this from the very beginning, back when everybody sold Scout Hogs because they are worthless. The ghost works even better. As a guy who does this tactic often, I can tell you this goes both ways. As often as I get splatters and cause a massive distraction, I’m also bumping into, blocking, and betraying teammates no matter how hard I try to avoid it. It’s also extremely easy to get jacked on the spire, especially drive up the tunnel ramps. It’s a great distraction, but rarely is it anything more. I only ever do this while assaulting and they are doing a great job defending. A Hog is a great way to shake things up.

I can’t count how many times on Defense I have saved my team from loosing because I was driving in a scout hog. Also If your whole team get’s out slayed, and pushed outside your base. It’s a great way to Instantly get back In the base, and by time for your team to get back in.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa, BACK UP. You mean to tell me some random person got noticed for doing what everyone else has been doing since day one? I do that all the time in WZA

Yup, I learned that tactic long before that update when I saw everyone else doing it. It’s a wonderful strategy on either side. When defending the spire I like to mostly drive it around on the bottom near their spawns. Even if I’m not getting many splatters drawing the fire from 2 or 3 dudes for a few second at a time makes a world of difference for my team. Also it’s just freaking fun.

Perfectly viable strategy. I know the splatter dynamics are annoying, but most of the time drivers seem to be cautious enough. Seems to me that you need to be proactive and just stop running around directly alongside vehicles in narrow areas.

EDIT: Oh! And if I ever catch you deliberately 'nading one of my vehicles I will follow you around the entire game nudging up against you to make sure you never have shields.

One time this guy invited me to a Warzone match. He’s an egotist, he’s the stereotypical Xbox kiddie, and all he does is try to show off and impress other people by trolling. He bombarded me and my friends’ party with 8 people, harassed us, spammed my account without reason. And he laughed in that fact, acted if he was perfectly cool. He’s that type of Xbox gamer. He only let me in, because I was already playing with one of his friends beforehand.

You want to know how I got my comeuppance? He spawned his only ONI Warthog. He got in gunner, was patiently waiting for a driver and asking someone to be his wheelman. I rushed past everyone else and hopped into the driver seat. First thing I did was drive towards a cliff and hurl off the edge. Funny thing, he actually jumped off early as I rolled down into the abyss, but he accidentally slipped down the pit anyway, RIGHT after he saved himself. Seeing him rage like a whiny 10 year old, and kicking me from the match afterward, it was hilarious.

Nothing is more fun then seeing a self-proclaimed “cool” person reduced into full-on raging, because their precious ONI warthog was destroyed. I use Warthogs to piss people off (only when they deserve it). And the best part is, I piss them off with their OWN warthogs.

this one time at band camp… there was this warthog

I never saw that update, so you’re wrong. I’ve done that for so long, and thought of it on my own. So just chill out buddy.

Never had it happen to me but it looks fun ;D

I don’t is them, but I think it’s a valuable strategy.

I had no idea this was a thing. Thanks for letting me know, OP! Now I’m gonna try it. Looks fun!

I’m definitely one of those guys driving a scout warthog around on top of the Spire during a game of Warzone Assault. Yes, the occasionaly shield drop of a teammate occurs. However, there are also a lot of benefits to being up there with a warthog.

  • It occupies the base - Possibility for many kills - The warthog is distracting the enemy team - The warthog is a bullet sponge (especially ONI)The scout warthog can also be beneficial driving in circles around the Core for the same reasons. It pulls the attention away from the front doors allowing your teammates to get in close with power weapons and destroy the Core.

LOLOLOLOL this is hilarious. It works you know. If they can do it then let them. Honestly Halo was always about crazy and fun ideas, so yeah. Do something,

LOL!! Too funny…

Would add:

This one time… in Halo…playing multiplayer, there was this warthog

I think that this particular tactic falls into the category of strategies that are completely viable -Yoink- moves:

  • Camping
  • Spawn Killing
  • Scouthog Splattering
  • Assassination Stealing
  • Warzone Boss Stealing
  • Sprinting around the map until you Spartan Charge someone
  • Spawn-Boarding
  • Magnum Sniping
  • Grenade Spam

Not to sound to evil but I do that warthog tactic with the ONI warthog and a friend who is good at using the turret.

Yah, that’s all well and good, but we’re on BLUE TEAM!
And this idiot just got stuck in the doorway. Now the enemy team just got +1 Defense.

GG bro. Well played.
