Take sprint out

Completely irrelevant in Halo.

Quake, Counterstrike and Unreal don’t have sprint.

Halo doesn’t have to avoid getting tired like Call of Duty by being Call of Duty!

Don’t be so arrogant 343: take it out or make it an option in custom games.

Next thing you’ll add Iron Sights !

In Matchmaking it should be taken out. I think it should be in custom games as an option though.

I like how people tries to make it like Halo3 again it is a new trilogy… and please stop with the call of doody thing other games have sprint as well

Why should campaign/spartan ops/firefight players suffer? It should be an option, so they can have gametypes with sprint, and others without

I like how people try to make every criticism of game mechanics sound like it has no merit by saying the reason is “wanting Halo 3.”

I like how people say it’s call of duty when it’s not.

That is fair. At the same time though, I don’t think its unfair to say that 343 DID make some decisions based on what other franchises were doing. For better or worse.

You BUILD on the mechanics, not change core gameplay!

Just because we don’t want Sprint doesn’t mean it’ll be a copy of Halo 3, and also at least make it an option.

True , i agree sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t let’s hope they either improve the settings halo have now or make it like it was before but with more custom settings if that makes sense.

I’m absolutely FINE with Sprint, though it does need a few adjustments.

There must be playlists with and without sprint, and the maps CANNOT be bloated in size just to accommodate it.

Instead of having that ‘slow down when shot’ effect that Sprint has, I think that there should be a de-sprint mechanic. That would combat the ‘get outta jail free card’ effect that it has.

Sprint was ruined in Halo 4 because of it being combined with instant respawn and the 8 second shield recharge delay. If instant respawn and the 8 delay was absent, Sprint really wouldn’t be a problem anymore.

We ? i like sprint i think it plays better and works pretty well with the game

And in the interest of disclosure, I DO think they should revert the game to Halo 3 and build from there. That isn’t to say i want a clone.

I think that limited use, on map pickups (equipment) would be a great way to implement armor abilities. It gives the developers leeway to determine what actually works on which maps, and you can make even the most ridiculous abilities balanced based on the fact they are on map and limited use (the rocket launcher was pretty obnoxious before armor abilities started countering it, but limited ammo and equal opportunity kept it from being a real problem).

Loadouts can work if you strip out the more problematic options.
I think personal ordinance supplying loadout weapons and ammo could work too. It would hardly be game breaking, and it would strip the need of cluttering maps with weapons that you effectively already have.

So I definitely want to step back two entries in the franchise before stepping forward again.

I like sprint. In my opinion, it was long overdue in Halo.

I think sprint is fine, and its not the “get out of jail free card”, as some one put it earlier, that it was in reach. i more times than not i have been killed trying to sprint around a corner to avoid death when i am getting shot in the back. and i dont use the tactical package/support upgrade (i dont remember which it is) that allows you to keep normal pace when shot because i have something better in its place. so yeah. sprint is fine… just make the shielding more resilient or give it a better time on the recharge delay, sprint is fine. shielding is a -slight- problem.

Sprint should not be in matchmaking. It causes problems with maps and influences the way the match is played too much. That said, there is no reason it should be removed from single player modes. Campaign, spops and customs should have it as an option, yes even in campaign. That way players can play the way they want without hurting others. It should also be reworked so that we can sprint a longer distance and hold our gun up while we do so. This would benefit speed runners as well.

Sprint can work in MM it just needs to be put in correctly. If anything put it in costem and campaign.

> Why should campaign/spartan ops/firefight players suffer? It should be an option, so they can have gametypes with sprint, and others without

Because game-play needs to be consistent, Halo campaigns have worked fine without sprint in the past and were very enjoyable so it’s not like it needs to stay.

It’s much more enjoyable with Sprint, in fact I’ve been complaining since Halo 2 I’ve been unable to run, Pillar of Autumn about to blow up? I’ll take a nice little stroll, going through Flood hive? Walking is obviously the best thing to do, Giant -Yoinking!- desert? Walking is totally a more enjoyable experience

A worm could detect the flaws in your logic.

Other games have it, therefore Halo should? No sugar coating today, that was ridiculous.
If a game needs something due to other games having it too, then there would only need to be one game in existence.

> I like how people tries to make it like Halo3 again it is a new trilogy… and please stop with the call of doody thing other games have sprint as well

You don’t understand, people aren’t trying to get Halo 3 again, they’re trying to get a traditional Halo game that feels and plays like Halo should. They want 343i to build off of Halo 3 and innovate with it, like what Halo 3 did from Halo 2, which innovated from Halo 1.

Whether or not it’s a new trilogy is irrelevant, if the gameplay doesn’t feel right to the fans, then it’s not a good path to go down. Just saying that it’s a new trilogy isn’t an excuse to completely change and remove everything that made Halo unique and enjoyable. That’s like saying that removing shields and adding in an ADS feature is perfectly alright due to it being a new trilogy.

And, to be fair, while other games do have Sprint, Frankie himself said that they were taking ideas from CoD for Halo 4. I believe his exact quote was something along the lines of “Call of Duty does some things well that we can do better.” It’s not completely farfetched to say that Halo 4 stole thing from Call of Duty when the voice of the franchise said so…
