Take Slayer out of Quickplay

I’d be good if they swapped slayer with king of the hill in quickplay
once it releases.

Seeee here’s the thing… It does. And if you remove slayer from quickplay… Nobody plays quickplay.

I don’t know anyone who plays quickplay because they want slayer. The people I know that want to play slayer… go play slayer. Wait, are you telling me you haven’t connected the dots that if you want to consistently play slayer that you should go to the slayer playlist?

Yesterday I played 4 quickplay playlist game,3slayer 1CTF!
Not only slayer be add to Quickplay, but it seems has a biger probability to be found than other modes.
If I want to play slayer, why not to play Slayer play list?
Another terrible thing is, all score you get in Quickplay slayer won’t be add to the missions called “slayer”

I play Quickplay for pretty much anything BUT slayer. At least for me, making Quickplay without slayer would make the queue at least somewhat more enjoyable since I have a higher chance of the objective modes I want to play (either casually or for challenges) without getting bogged down by a mode that I could just go play on its own. Of course this is a problem that would be better solved by a match composer but I have no idea when we can ever expect such a feature for Infinite.

Yes its true that tons of FPS players just gravitate towards deathmatch modes and removing Slayer might have some adverse effect on quickplay, but I feel that the first factor is something that is just inevitable and the second will be outweighed by trimming the fat and making quickplay slightly more efficient for objective mode searching imo. Plus I feel like most of the people who are really interested in Slayer have already partially or fully migrated to one of the 24/7 Slayer playlists (outside of challenge progression) prior to a change like this.

Maybe quick play should change its name to ‘the challenge playlist’ and all challenges should be available rather than just four.

I recall 343 addressing slayer in quickplay. They said they are keeping it in to filter out the toxic objective player base.

Having a little bit of everything in quick play is kind of the point. It’s meant to be the quick option for getting the base Halo multiplayer experience so they have Slayer and a couple of objective game modes in it. In the past we’ve had social playlists that have multiple game types in it basically covering the same role such as social rumble which had Slayer, capture the flag, assault and King of the Hill. It may have also contained territories but I’m not sure.

If you remove Slayer from quick play it essentially just turns it into an objective playlist which then isn’t quick play. They should just create an objective playlist but still keep quick play in.

The only reason I play Quickplay is to complete objective based challenges. I’m sure I’m not the only one. In fact, I would venture to say it’s probably the majority. (It doesn’t help that Team Slayer challenges can’t actually be completed by playing Team Slayer in Quickplay.)

What does “toxic objective player base” mean? (A reference would be appreciated.)

And if you wanna get technically about it, SWAT and Fiesta are also Team Slayer variants, so they should count as well.

Slayer should be removed from Quickplay since Slayer has its own playlists.
Created myself a topic about this some time ago

Nobody plays quickplay for slayer, but that slayer is there helps populate it. Do you not understand this?

EDIT: I am aware of the slayer playlist. Who isn’t? But Slayer being in quickplay helps the other modes stay populated.

Lol it’s quickplay. Taking anything out would make no sense

I don’t know a single person who plays quickplay because they’re wanting slayer. I question the intelligence of the people you interact with who want slayer from quickplay and don’t just go to the actual playlist.

A bizarre thing to say - I am curious too!

It really wouldn’t.

It’s nobody I interact with, just waypointers here and there.

But you’re not really understanding what I’m saying, so I’ll try one more time.

Non Slayer Modes are not played anywhere near as much as Alternative Objective Modes.

Having them share the same player pool, means Objective Modes get population. Splitting the pool means they get less.

Ooh, the CTF playlist, I’m sure that one would be very alive.

But if Slayer’s in that playlist, there’s a higher chance.

I am actually against a standalone Slayer playlist, and have never supported the decision. Other modes need more love, and since Team Slayer is the simplest option, most people pick it.

Basically, it’s a question of variety and balancing population. Slayer playlists always have higher counts, causing an unbalance.

Do you get it?

And then you get drivel like this.

Seeee here’s the thing… I love CTF and Oddball, and so do people I play with. But I’d love it even more if they had their own playlists.

Nice picture, BTW. I like the art more than your old one.

A bit of an ouch, given I drew the old one, but my wife drew this one. But I’m working on it and working on commissions, so hey. People want my work and that’s nice! But thank you. (I at least, handled the shading and eye details on this avatar.)

and I like, I agree with you, it is fun to do that. But I worry the population, even when the game IS stuffed, would be too low for separate lists. But honestly, if I’m proven wrong by that then I would happily join.

Well theres already a slayer playlist so your point is mute. I know of noone wanting to find slayer in quickplay.

Moot*, but whatever the case may be, I’m not wrong.
