And isn’t social slayer ffa too? So it’s wacky ffa instead of standard ffa slayer/oddball.
Not sure what all the modes are in it this week, since it’s a rotating playlist I don’t play often. I don’t think it would have FFA modes, since it would prevent you queueing with friends. Check the playlist preview button though to be sure
Just checked and no it seems it’s not ffa. It’s Action Sack.
Yeah, Action Sack. that’s what it was called, not Grab Bag. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the playlist by that name
Yeah I have no idea why they’re just calling it social Slayer and not Action Sack. I really have no understanding of 343i’s thought process and logic on renaming pre-existing games and playlists to something else. The series has existed for over 20 years now. That’s two decades of the same naming conventions. Why on Earth would anyone do this?
Rumor is that they changed Swat to Tactical Slayer (even though there’s nothing tactical about it) because apparently a game company about a futuristic space military is supposed to hate modern cops, but I have no idea why they changed Action Sack to Social, when both of these are still unchanged in MCC.
Just add it to the loooooooong list of things at 343 got rid of or changed for no good reason, other than to spite Bungie
Yeah like changing territories to koth. Why?! Just why?
Strongholds, Total Control and KotH are all actually just Territories variants we had in H3. None of them are actually “new” or even what they were before in every past Halo title.
One of the better suggestions on this forum. I don’t find it really that helpful either, with how fast people can move thanks to sprint/slide/grapple/thrust, I find the sound of footsteps much more telling and I swear you can hear them about as far as the radar - haven’t gone out of my way to test it.

So they removed the police lights in MCC because of BLM, but they removed the name SWAT because of people “prank” calling SWAT on streamers? Weird choice. Speed got Swatted not that many months ago iirc, and he doesn’t even play normal video games, so obviously changing the game mode name isn’t going to do anything about that malicious “prank” issue. Even still, they didn’t change it in MCC, so why in Infinite? Doesn’t really add up
They are talking about adding in a career progression system at some point, ala Halo Reach.
Making Slayer Ranked first would seem to be a no-brainer, with this being 343’s Flagship game and all.
I’m hopeful they will come to their senses.
Nah, don’t say “a la Reach” because there’s no way 343 would ever add credits, bonuses, medal multipliers, and the slot machine. We will be lucky to get xp from just kills. It’s Double XP week in MCC and we don’t even get that in Infinite. They’re going to do the bare minimum at most
Of course they won’t do any of that stuff because it’s not conducive to the monetization model. They can’t just dole out free double XP for a week and give us free credits. How are they supposed to make money?
I freaking hate this stupid free to play monetization bullcrap.
Yeah no. Let’s not do this. Trend chasing what works in other games and throwing out what works for Halo is why this franchise is on life support.
Except that Halo’s radar IS the reminisce of trend chasing from back in the days, you just got used to it over years and Halo installments, but a failed design is a failed designed no matter how much time has passed, it’s actually one of the prime examples of the devs desperately trying to copy CoD after it skyrocketed in popularity without even realizing why it did so, what and why worked so well.
Can u explain to me how exactly the Halo devs copied the radar from COD? Halo already had it’s radar since the first game: CE in 2001. COD’s first game was in late 2003…
So i’m just curious but what Halo game did you think had the best radar for game play?
What was the first online shooter to include a radar? Or are you talking about the first online game YOU played. Because those are two different things.
If that’s what had always worked for successful games, how come Halo 2, 3, and reach Dominated in the #1 and #2 slots from 2004-2011? IDK, if you asked me it seems like certain systems work best around their own games needs instead of being uniform in implementation across all game.
Oh please the FFA radar has more dots than a lady bug. What dark corner of the maps are you camping in to not see a red dot. Secondly, even when standing still shooting does in-fact cause players to pop-up on the radar in Halo. Always has.
What are you actually talking about?
You not liking something =/ failed design.
What @Super87Ghost said
I feel the same way when the military uses radar. Grow up and serve the country blind like a real man!
Can we just at least have a ranked 4v4 Team Slayer get rotated in for two weeks? That would be at least great to experience the true new weapon sandbox of Halo Infinite in a ranked setting.
