This toggle on toggle off junk is rediculous. Take out sprint completely. Halo is getting worse with 343 taking over -_-
I’m willing to give Thrusters a chance. We’ll have to see how it works out with all the maps and gameplay types, but I’m willing to give it a shot.
And Destiny has shown that Bungie is not what it used to be. Say what you want about 343i, but I don’t want to imagine what modern day Bungie would do to Halo.
I don’t think bungie would’ve made such drastic changes to halo if they continued making it. They did fantastic things when they made the games. Destiny is a completely different game title made by bungie and not really relevant with what I’m talking about.
Because the people with sprint toggled on will have an extra advantage to them than the people who don’t have it toggled on. It should just be removed. This is my opinion and I’ve been a halo fan since combat involved calling off work or skipping school because the game was so good. Now I’m to the point where im not excited for the release of halo 5, from being completely in love with game to hating it, watching good old halo go down like this is saddening to me. 343 lost me as a customer to the halo franchise because they obviously feel a need for drastic changes to a once perfect game because they want to evolve it or some -Yoink-

Bungie were the ones who introduced Sprint and Armor Abilities in the default settings. Looking at how they are addressing Destiny’s problems shows they would have just doubled down and gone on their merry way. I think you underestimate how much Bungie has changed over the years. A lot of the guys who made Halo Halo aren’t there anymore.
343 isn’t perfect, and I’ve given them a lot of flack here and elsewhere. But I trust them as developers more that I do Bungie right now. I don’t like everything they are doing, but I’m willing to give them a chance as they are willing to make changes.
I’d actually rather have Sprint than something that completely sidelines strafing. Ditching both is even better.
I don’t mind that it’s 343 making the game but I don’t get why they need such drastic changes to a game for it to evolve. Keep the changes simple and try improving the game in little ways instead of completely changing the style of the game.
Like I said; I’m willing to give Thrusters a chance. A beta is not the best chance to see what the final product will be. Sprint; I have no idea what it adds to Halo that was not already there. I’ve heard it said that makes it faster, but I don’t understand how increased speed improves Halo.

Why would you want a split fanbase for the 3rd straight game.
It’s better than nothing, sure. But it’s overall not good for the game or the longevity of it compared to it just not being in the game at all.

Can I remind you that they brought in AA’s and Sprint with and the lack of Rank/True Skill with Reach, if you don’t class that as a drastic change then I don’t know what is?
Sprint doesn’t improve the game, it’s a preference. It doesn’t fit well with traditional halo. Leave sprint to cod and battlefield. Halo had it own style and now it’s becoming just another fps game. Sprint,you die faster now,halo is definitely going downhill as I can see.

Well what if people’s preference is sprint?
No one ever said you have to use sprint in the game.

I’m sure A lot of people want armor lock too, why shouldn’t we let them have that as well? The answer, is because they’re both bad for the game.

Except you’d be walking on a map designed for sprinting, and would have to deal with people using the mechanic you’re not. The issue isn’t that people hate the act of sprinting, it’s its negative effect on gameplay.

First off, are you under the impression that some people are going to have sprint and other are not in the SAME match?
If so…that’s not the case. It’s a toggle able option in custom matches (or likely some traditional playlists) that applies to ALL players in that match.
Secondly, the sprint mechanic was added by BUNGIE, not 343, to the Halo sandbox. I don’t even have to go into the disastrous Armor Lock, ALSO added by Bungie…
I really don’t get where some of you people get this idealized fantasy of “if only Bungie had made Halo 5 it would be Halo 2 with better graphics!!!”

I know it’s going to be a toggle off toggle on thing for custom matches and I’m sure they’ll have traditional matchmaking without it. But halo was never a sprint type of game and I feel it should be left out completely. Bungie may of introdust it in reach but that’s not even a main title of the halo series h1 h2 h3 h4 h5 are main titles. I didn’t buy reach either due to sprint. 343 continues to make halo with sprint and they’re taking away from the best multiplayer game that never had to use sprint to build its reputation where it is today. Bottom line is leave sprint out and let halo be unique.
