Hello Spartans! I just got called out for being a… well, a very bad word because I didn’t “try.”
I joined a WZ Assault game in progress where our team was getting destroyed. How bad was it? I joined with around 2:25 seconds left, had only two req points to work with and the other team had either 3 or 4 AND there were 3 other former teammates that already left. The kill feed was completely red with my allies, including me, and we couldn’t do anything, not even touch their base. So with around 35 sec left, I pretty much gave up. I drove my mongooses on suicide runs into the base and, apparently, the top guy on our team took notice and sent your typical “useless teammate” messages all to me. I suppose I shouldn’t have give in, but there was no way we were going to win.
With that being said, I say take it easy on Join-in-Progress players. Sure it sucks if your teammates already left, but the blame shouldn’t be on players that have to fill in those shoes.
I’m not saying he was right for doing that but it’s not always black and white seeing who just joined. People who join 3 minutes in could easily move up in the leaderboard. Still wrong of him to call you out though it’s game. Get over it and move on to the next

Yep, it’s very rarely the fault of the JIP folk, and it’s tough being a JIP. Sure, you get a base REQ Level for joining, but sounds like that simply wasn’t enough against a organized team who had already steamrolled half the team into quitting, as is often the case.

I agree I’ve joined many games where my team was losing and I’m like don’t blame me for your bad playing.

I’m sure a lot of tensions were high during that match, they typically are when things are going badly.
Honestly, there’s nothing anyone can do about what players say to each other, you’re better off just muting or blocking them because Xbox isn’t going to help you and neither will 343. There are times when you can be doing great but someone will always have an issue with what you’ve done, or very rarely, you’ll get praised for it. Nowadays, every game with multiplayer feels like GTA5 Online, no honor, no balance, no patience. Just hurry up and kill this guy before my team mates get him. It’s pretty ridiculous but Halo has become a shadow of it’s former self.
And Halo has been NOTORIOUS for throwing players into In-Progress games. I don’t know why the developers still haven’t grown a f``king brain and removed this from the series… They try to make the game better, and they succeed a little bit but then they add more garbage like the new Shield Regen(you have to COMPLETELY STOP or HIDE somewhere after each fight to regain your shield, basically promoting camping), they allow joining games In-Progress which can make you lose your REQ Boosts, you can get betrayed all game but when you do it once… you’re kicked. They say they punish people for quitting, but it seems almost EVERY game has at least 2 to 3 people quitting out, leaving you to fight by yourself or risk getting “punished” if you decide to leave.
