Take Friendly fire out of Griftball!

I have been playing Griftball in Reach leading up to Halo 4, and i i can not enjoy it as much as i previously did. The underlying cause of this is because i am always being betrayed by my team. Seriously their is no reason at all for friendly fire to be included in the game mode on Halo 4, anyone else think the same?

  1. It’s Grifball.

  2. There is all the reason in the world to keep FF on. With the return to floaty physics especially, taking out betrayals is going to make launching Grif entirely too easy. If you’re getting betrayed by your team, find some friends to play with.

nope.
friendly fire forces people to be team players if they want to win. well, in theory.

I think they should keep it in, while I don’t like it for the same reasons as you I’d hate if Grifball just turned into launching people cross map.

You got JIP, use it.

No. Turning of FF would completely break Grifball.

Go in with a party of 5 in private chat. Reactions to the mole on the other team are hilarious.

I get what people are saying and i never really thought about those effects but surely their could be someway 343 could reduce this especially as you can now throw the ball, their is no need to launch each other and do those kind of things.

Just becuase you throw the ball doesnt mean it can not be intercepted. It goes like this.

superMLGplayer tosses to xXx1337snperzxXx but wait herpderp81 comes from the left and INTERCEPTION, he goes for the touchdown UNICORNS WIN THE GAME.

Ahh i suppose it is something that i must deal with, thank you to all those who replied.

You can still turn FF off in custom games im sure so you could just do that. Im sure getting a group for griFball wouldnt be too hard especially right after launch

Grifball isn’t even a playlist in Halo 4. And I’d say having friendly fire disabled in Grifball is far more exploitable than having it enabled.

griffball has always had friendly fire since it was release in halo 3.

What is Griftball classed as in halo 4 then, if not its own playlist?

Friendly Fire in Grifball is a double-edged sword, and while it can be annoying at times it would be much worse with it off.

I believe it’s one of the base gametype options, I’m not sure where though since Assault isn’t even in the game anymore. I really hope they do bring it back properly, even if it’s only an event-based playlist every one or two weeks…

I just don’t get it, on the live panel they made a big deal of it, showing it off completely, why would they do that and not make it a major part of halo 4?

Grifball has nothing to do with Assault anymore. In Halo 3 and Reach it was built off of Assault. In 4, it’s its own gametype.

Precisely why I was wondering whether it would show up as its own gametype next to Regicide, Dominion, etc.

But they will be competitive game modes along with slayer and such most likely, griftball is a community game, no reason for them to be with each other.
