Guys, I think it’s time to face facts that you can’t hotfix MCC. After trying to play with my buddies tonight and still having an absolute awful time trying to join games, I’d like for y’all to shut down the game for a week to resolve some of these issues without a having to deal with a moving target. Hopefully that will get the game in a working state before Christmas because as of right now it’s still a mess. I understand that this will upset the player base, but if you bring MCC back online functioning as intended you’ll be quickly forgiven
I’d be fine with this. Get a good chunk of the bugs squashed, and get the dedicated servers running. Once that’s all done turn it back on and put up a banner on the XBOX dashboard to let people know that its finally fixed.
It’s the only way I see them actually making progress on all the issues that are occurring. It sucks that the game will be down, but it’s just so frustrating to play right now that I’d almost rather not have it running in this state. When your product isn’t running as it’s intended it’s better to not have it running because you’re going to ruin a player’s impression of the game.
I’d be ok with this as well, considering I’m not even playing the thing till they resolve most of the issues. its a bit unsettling that i’ve had this game since launch and it hasn’t been in my disk tray since then, considering this is the game i have been waiting on for years.
Not sure if them actually taking it down would help or hinder their ability to fix it though. at least when its live they can see if they are actually getting a result with their hotfixes or not. Frankly, i just want them to address the issues with campaign…
You do know how this server stuff works, don’t you? They most likely use a beta server(in-house) of sorts to trial the patches before pushing them out onto the live server. So turning off the live server won’t do anything but stop people from playing the game (or at least try to play the game).

Really? When is the last time you played on a dedicated server because I personally never have. I’m sure they have a test environment set-up at 343i but they also had that in place before they launched the game when they thought that it’d run fine. I think bring everything down for a week and jamming out as many fixes as they can from a clean slate right before Christmas would enable them to get a better product out.
No, the only way I will accept them taking this game down is if they issue a complete recall. That way we would have a garantee working version of the game.
