Take advantage of the nostalgia

So we have Infinity Slayer, with loadouts, crazy amounts of power weapons, AA’s, and basically a big explosion fest. That’s pretty fun but you’re kidding yourselves to think that mode would ever be ‘balanced’.

Then you have Team Throwdown, which is incredibly balanced and is definitely geared for the very competitive region of the community. The sandbox is just about perfect without deluxe settings thrown in there, and if they find a way to fix the mammoth quit % it will absolutely serve it’s purpose.

There’s a very clear middle ground that would appeal to the players that want classic halo, without the tryhard feel of Throwdown. You can’t just remove infinity slayer, it’s got some real fans, and I’d say it’s an awesome social playlist when you think about it. There are just a bunch of players that are in the middle that just don’t like things being that random, hate loadouts, and ordnance.

So my thought is make something for the middle. The gap between infinity and pro is VERY wide, and that’s where I think we could draw back some of our fans. They’d be hard pressed to want to play previous halos if it were done right. Just call it Slayer, without any gimmicky whatever because, honestly, it comes off as pandering, and have some old options come back.

Slayer, Slayer BR’s, Slayer Pro
Slayer would be AR/Magnum, 2 Frags, No perks, No AA’s, Radar, and Map spawned weapons
Slayer BR’s would just have the BR instead of the AR
Slayer Pro would have BR and no radar and only skill weapon spawns

Sounds familiar right? I’d think it’d be more of the Halo we remember and loved, while keeping all the new stuff, and I’m pretty sure if it were kept simple, you’d have some very pleased fans. It was never wrong to want to put new stuff in your game, but you should never completely cut out a working formulas either, especially when it’s Halo. It might better showcase the fast paced nature of your other playlists as well.

Try it, I dares ya

Really like the direction you’re moving in.
