Take a step back - Map size

I just noticed something. Many of us have nagged 343 about some of these maps not being 4v4. I can see why people are considering the new 5v5 for competitive, but maps like Complex or the new “Harvest,” are they not around the size of Last Resort. Perhaps even smaller at least I think so.

I don’t recall Last Resort being a btb map. It could support 4v4. I don’t remember people being a tough critic about its size, and it has warthogs, like Harvest (a long narrow map). Are we being biased?

Also remeber halo 2 having fast movement speed. I remember playing lan with 3 others on “big maps,” while still having a nice flow. Sprint can be looked at as faster movement speed on top of our decent m speed. Just ignore the gun dropping when sprinting and how it can get you out of situations (think about it).

Also I haven’t forgotten “small” maps like guardian. I’m just making the point that these are supported 4v4 maps, but not exactly small. I can see why people prefer only movement speed though, but look at haven and adrift. I feel like those are small and play well even with sprint.

H2 and H3 didn’t have spawn weapons that can shoot across the map and cause everyone to hide behind rocks the entire game lowering the pace of the game to something that makes paint drying look exhilarating.

Just even it out is all, have a variety of map types to vote for not 50 BTB maps that don’t appear in BTB playlists :confused:

People moved a lot more freely only because the BR wasn’t a laser precision weapon. Only the that you really had to fear is the sniper rifle. Now the laser in halo 3 being introduced…

The only problem I have with big team maps so far is that because a lot more people are getting sniper rifles it is causing more people to stay in a certain safe area or more or less camp. But I don’t think people should be upset cause the Crimson map pack doesn’t have a small map, many small maps can be added with the forge based maps later on.

Agreed, thanks to personal Ordnance, which I dislike. Makes things random and unbalanced. Infinity slayer can be frustrating sometimes.

Uh, no. The HCE pistol only had a 2x scope and you had to lead ridiculous amounts at range. The H4 DMR is 3x scope with hitscan.
