Why not just call it Swat? It’s always been called that.

I’ve been wondering this as well. Unless they had this hair-brained idea that “Swat” wasn’t close enough to a slayer name and think the new members of the Halo community aren’t bright enough to figure out that Swat is a slayer variant, there isn’t a single reason to change its name. It can’t possibly be a legal issue as 4 and 5 both called it Swat as well.
Someone suggested it might be a more toned down rebrand of sorts because of hot topic issues in every day life that shaped the middle 50% of 2020.
Which is the politically correct way of saying it, which is how I don’t want to phrase it if I’m being totally honest.

I’m not wrong. This has to be why. They even used the title in two of their own games before this release.

No need for any credit concerns, my real concern is that the community needs to know why they changed the name even if they lie to us.
It was changed due to “swatting” being a thing, has nothing to do with law enforcement.
