SWAT has been in the franchise since H2 and it’s a very loved mode. I personally don’t play it but many others do and it was one of the top most requested modes since Infinite launched. To not have it now would be un-Halo like. Ranked slayer with br starts should be its own playlist, don’t need to remove SWAT to have it.
It is pretty much for CoD kids though. CoD 1sk SWAT 1sk.
The whole game emulates COD. It’s crap. Every game it just feels like you’re running around like a headless chicken shooting. No room for stealth or tactics in 343’s iteration of Halo. The more I play the game the more I hate it…
Ranked now forces BR starts on you with no radar so for all intensive purposes every ranked game feels like SWAT. Don’t get me wrong, in past Halos I didn’t mind SWAT, it had it’s own dedicated playlist and I could drop in and out when I fancied it. But it is not my favourite game mode by a long stretch and right now every ranked game feels like a variation of SWAT.
This is one of the most confusing but hilarious threads on the forum. Half the people in here are making crazy statements and suggestions that don’t do anything except show that they’ve never played a Halo game before 
It’s just SWAT guys. It’s been there and been popular since 2004. It pre-dates COD’s popularity by almost three years.

My wishlist for this game in general is, put the radar back to how it was, remove default sprint, which will lower the pace pf the game and improve spawn issues and confine BR starts to it’s own playlist SWAT. It’s a power weapon for christ sake.
Tactical slayer has been this way since 2004. It was originally called ‘Swat’ in past Halos. It’s not emulating CoD at all or any other game.
Have you ever played SWAT before? This game type is as old as halo itself.
uh… what are you going on about…? Tactical Slayer Aka Swat has been in Halo 2 (2004) and every game since. It’s amazing how you created this rant to dump on a mode thats existed for 17 years for “copying cod.” It hasn’t had shields for 17 years this isn’t brand new game mode. It’s a legacy mode.
Swat is where people practice with the BR and pistol for aim. Just because you don’t like it and apparently didn’t know when it was developed doesn’t mean it’s copying CoD. It just means you don’t know what you’re talking about.

What do you think Tactical Slayer is? It’s 343’s version of SWAT and it’s something we’ve been asking for since the multiplayer launched. It’s meant as headshot practice and slightly more casual fun. Matches tend to be over fairly quickly as well.
I just wish other precision weapons spawned on the map and we had ammo to worry about.

You understand that SWAT (aka Tactical Slayer now, for some reason) has been a beloved gametype for years in Halo, right? What are you complaining about?
Halo is a sandbox game with infinite customizations. And SWAT is just another way to play. I enjoy it. I use it as an aim trainer warmup before I hit the Ranked queues, or I just hangout with friends in the SWAT lobbies.
Having SWAT available, or any alternate playlist for that matter, is a good thing.
Nope, several threads were shut down discussing this with “swatting” being the reason for the name change.

Because it’s 4 of the 8 letters of turning a noun into a verb that is (more like was) a controversial practice.
