Systemic in game voip issue breaking Comms

“Can you hear me now?.. How about now?”

:frowning:

The state of MCC’s voip system is DIRE.

After many tests my friends and I have confirmed several things.

  • When first launching the MCC from a cold boot of the XBOX your mic will work as designed. When someone joins your lobby you will both hear and be able to speak to them.- In most instances, after playing a matchmaking game, you MUST unplug and replug (U&R) your mic after “press B to continue” appears above the final scoreboard if you wish for your mic to continue functioning.- In most instances, when transitioning from the playlist menu to matchmaking a chosen playlist you MUST U&R (yes that transition is nearly instantaneous but it RELIABLY kills voip without a U&R)- In most instances, after “Connecting Session” is seen and players load into the lobby a U&R will be required for mic function.- In most instances, Once the game has loaded and play begins a U&R will be required for mic function.
*MIC MALFUNCTIONS tend to be one way. One or more of the players will be able to hear all other players but not be heard or vice versa. Sometimes it can happen to everyone which just seems like a silent party.

#RinseAndRepeat

This amount of unplugging and replugging of mics (any amount to be honest) is really unacceptable. Even if players are made aware of this absurd regime most wouldn’t bother with it anyway. That plug is an absolute PITA to U&R.

This problem has a very negative effect on the community, people generally enjoy communication especially when it comes to competitive and objective based gametypes.

One suggestion my friend had would be to:
> simply code in an automatic “FAUX U&R” at these transition points until the actual problem is narrowed down. The game would automagically reset everyone’s mic, a virtual unplug and replug.

I believe this should be near the top of the list when it comes to fixes for the MCC. We need to be able to communicate!

LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD!

Is there a further understanding of this issue held by the dev team?

It’s worked fine until the March content update. They claim they fixed the party system, but in doing so they completely broke in-game chat.

I think someone needs to visit 343 and explain the concept of regression testing.

This is quite troubling… Hopefully 343 will see this and investigate further.

A working ingame voip system is important for the longevity of MCC

It has never worked after the first game, it has always been random and spotty at best.

MCC Chat Failure
