System Sellers

Should I buy an Xbox One solely to play Halo 5? My brother lent me his copy of Halo: CE way back in 2003. It was so fantastic, I was going to play Halo forever. I picked the Halo Edition Xbox 360 bundled with Halo 3. I even enjoyed Halo 4’s multiplayer for awhile. Now I’m wondering if a decade of Halo is enough, and the decision to buy an Xbox One is tantamount to a decision to continue Master Chief’s story.

Why not buy an Xbox One regardless of Halo? I could go to Target and buy an Xbox One right now. If only it were so easy; there’s the Kinect which my family hates on the 360, the Xbox Live Gold requirement to watch Netflix, Microsoft’s boneheaded Big Brother boondoggle, the $500 cost, no backwards compatibility, and the resolution and framerate issues. But does any of that matter if the Master Chief and I can save the Galaxy a few more times?

I would definitely wait to see more information on Halo on Xbox One before making such a decision.

As for your question about the Xbox One being worth purchasing overall for other things besides Halo, that’s mostly an off-topic question, but I can tell you that personally, there’s nothing that makes me more invested in Xbox than the Halo franchise.

I did.

The xbox one is a great console! I hate the hate towards it because it is really great in my opinion. Cant wait playing halo 5 on the xbox one.

The Kinect can be completely disabled and, if you choose, unplugged.

One XBL Gold subscription applies to everyone who uses the console.

The “always online” and DRM restrictions have been removed.

The Xbox One has an HDMI input, which means you can plug your Xbox 360 into it and switch between it and your One without having to change inputs on your TV.

FYI.

I believe the xbox one will be worth it in a while once the bugs are flattened out. That and there will likely be other “elite” versions later. The one I currently own works fine for me, (minus the horrible party chat system), and I enjoy it.

As an Xbox One owner, I would have to highly recommend it. I think that Halo 5 will be an AMAZING game given that Halo 4 was 343’s first ever game, all the feedback they have been given, new employees they have hired, etc. As for Kinect 2.0, the Kinect is actually a huge improvement. I find myself using it a lot on the Xbox One, while I barely used it on the 360. The OS, most applications, and most games have very useful features for Kinect. As for Live, it costs money for a reason. It costs a lot for Microsoft to run all of their servers used for games, update the OS frequently, etc. There are also a ton of other amazing exclusives that you will be missing out on if you don’t get it such as Quantum Break, Gears of War, Sunset Overdrive, Fable, etc. As for resolution issues, there aren’t any. I have a 1080p 32 inch TV, and a 50 inch 720p TV, and when I play games such as Forza 5(1080p, 60 FPS, and an all around beautiful game) I can’t tell any difference between the 2. The only reason that I haven’t sold my 360 is because of Halo, and I am really looking forward to the next one.

Party chat update will be out in a couple weeks. Many users(Including me, and several other people on my friends list) have already been invited to the preview of the new update.

I’ve enjoyed everything about my Xbox One. I have the PS4 as well and I can honestly say I prefer the Xbox One’s interface and controller. If you are only interested in Halo Xbox One though I would definitely wait for more details since it obviously still hasn’t been revealed with a name (probably will happen at PAX in April, but who knows). End of the day though it is your call. Both systems are doing very well and this generation is going to be a great one.

Wait until the game comes out, see what is said about it, think it over, and see if you have a friend who has it and try it out over there. You have time to make your decision.

Here is a reason to buy Ps4.

Watch the Oculus rift competitor in action:

For me, it’s a system seller.

I know i will be buying Xbox One. Maybe not because it comes with Halo 5, but because i like the games it has and PS4 fans have surely made a good work about me starting to hate PS4…

Stupid console wars…

I want a console with Destiny, Oculus rift, Witcher 3, Elder Scrolls Online, Fable, Dragon age, Dark Souls, Halo 1-3, Super Smash, Super Mario Kart and a mix between the Xbox and Ps controller looking like this ( http://img2.sprzedajemy.pl/540x405_gioteck-hf-pad-bluetooth-xbox-9564407.jpg ). I think the Ps controllers have the best handle, but the Xbox has placed their sticks the better.

Google, go make it.

We all do mate…We all do…

As an Xbone owner I can safely say do not buy. Wait until they get the kinks ironed out. As it stands a PS4 would be a much better investment, or even building a proper gaming PC. The Xbone runs games at poor resolutions and frame rates. The only real example of decent running game is Forza 5, but it is no secret that racing games are ALOT easier for a system to run than any other form of genre.

The Xbox controller is a big +. (Even Nintendo stole the Xbox controller layout). Titanfall for free is also a nice bonus. My kids are adamant that we can’t replace the Xbox 360 until the next gen consoles get Minecraft, so I think I’ll take a money saving wait-and-see approach.
