Ok so tonight my gf and I want to play coop by system link, so I have 2 Xbox, 2 halo 4 games, and 2 TVs.
I can’t find how to get her to join my game it’s impossible, always says status not avaible when I see her on my roster.
All I have is the eather net cable plugged from one Xbox into another it’s driving me crazy because we just want to each have out own tv but I can’t find a way to get us in the same game or any game for that matter.
Any help would be great thanks!

What is that? cause when i got system link hooked up i can see her on my game i just cant invite her or anything, just says its locked and i can join the game

first off you know you need a special cable not just a regular ethernet cable right? its gotta be a system link cable… secondly if you have the right cable you have to change your connection type. press start to go into the spartan hub and then go down to connection (i think). then change it to system link (do this for both xboxes) then you should be able to join each other.
not sure if all that makes sense, im at work so i cant double check all the names or exact steps but the logic is there

just saw you post this after my post… there should be a party option make sure its set to open and u should be able to join. if not, im not sure whats going on
ohh, i figured that i could just use a regular internet cable to do it. Wonder where i would have to buy this special cable. and ya i went into settings and changed both consoles to system link, it recognizes that we are connected we just cant play together
When i click on her name that i can see from my console it says status unavailable in red and has a lock on it so i cant click on anything. same goes when she trys that to mine to
You can use a regular Ethernet cable If you use a Modem to link the 2 Xbox’s. The thing is you’ll have to have two Ethernet cables.

oh ok that would explain it. yeah u need a different calbe. umm you can buy them at gamestop or another game place. but they are gonna be pretty expensive. i bought mine from monoprice they are called cat 6 crossover cables. here is a link: http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10232&cs_id=1023202
i use monoprice all the time for cables and i highly recommend them. their prices cant be beat and the products are a good quality too.

yup it should work if u buy a system link cable then connect to both xboxs. everything else you described sounds like u were doing it right just need the right cable. good luck and hope u find a system link cable so u can have some fun!
