As long as the games are backwards compatible on the Xbox 360 (which they are) and you have a cable connecting the two consoles, I don’t see why System Link wouldn’t work.

Should work between two Xbox 360’s but also, you can plug your ethernet into your computer and set up tunneling software that will recreate the experience of playing online. You can find this technology searching XLink Kai on Google.

All 360 Halo games are backwards compatible on the Xbox One and Series X|S. It shouldn’t matter which edition of the game you own.

As long you own two copies of the game, and both consoles are either connected to each other with a crossover cable or are connected to your router/Wi-Fi, you should be able to do system link with no trouble.

Yes, original game can be system linked on Xbox 360 consoles. If you run into issues, clear the system cache. Sometimes the games won’t be able to recognize each other from different consoles because of Xbox Live updates. If neither Xbox 360 console has ever played Halo 2 on Xbox Live, you should be fine.

If you have any issues, you can DM me. I’ve been hosting LAN parties since the OG Xbox days.
