System Link Halo 5 yet?

I couldn’t find any recent threads about this. Does anybody know a workaround to have some sort of LAN for Halo 5 where it won’t be a big lagfest? Me and my buddies are planning a LAN party for Memorial Day weekend. Going to order some pizza and kick it like the old days, except now some guys have kids that will be playing with us!

I honestly need some help, I don’t understand the whole connecting to XBL for verification while somehow preserving LAN qualities. So is there any way whatsoever to System Link Halo 5 yet. With no split-screen we can take turns playing 2v2 for a while. It’s just so unfortunate that we’re going to have to spend the majority of the time playing CoD so everyone can play. It really sucks.

By the way, this isn’t a stupid satirical post. This LAN party is happening for real and I want us to be able to play Halo 5, not some other game. So what’s our options?

I didn’t even know XB1’s had system link ports to be honest. But honestly you might just have to bring 8 XB1’s and cram them all in the same room if you wanna play 4v4.

I remember the old days system linking 2 Xbox’s for Halo 2, playing in 2 different rooms so we couldn’t screen-look. -Yoink- got wild. Plus the juvenile names, where you would see “You got killed by your mom’s boyfriend” and the like.

Good times. I wish you luck OP

I do this all the time and there’s no workaround.

One person per console/TV and pray that Xbox Live and the servers are up and running over the weekend.

System Link for Xbox One would use the Internet port. It would use Cat5 I presume don’t think you’d need Cat6 but I don’t know. Doesn’t matter if there’s not some kind of workaround. I know Hao 5 doesn’t offer any native support for LAN. But I’'m asking if there’s some way to get it done kind of like XBConnect back in the day (but I guess that would still rely on the Internet… this is why I made this thread hahaha).

We have 4 Xbox Ones, that’s why I said 2v2. But I definitely can’t scrap together 4 more Ones.

I wish they had options for offline and system link toggles, I LOVE dedicated servers, but when my internet goes out I see that as a perfect time to say, forge. But guess what else runs on servers, FORGE.

“Local” custom games run on their dedicated servers. There’s no way around it.

Thanks for the reply Plastic Hassle. I know this thread will get locked eventually if enough people see it but I just can’t help it. I’ve been texting the guys and we are probably going to end up playing poker and just let the two kids play on XBL together. I very seriously doubt our internet can handle 4 simultaneous Xbox Ones.

Did 343 or Microsoft really think that so many LAN parties would be happening that it would hurt the amount of people on XBL? Or on the flip side, did they really think it would be such a financial or time investment to include the ability for LAN in Halo 5? No split-screen really sucks but at least we could play SOME halo 5 together if they would just give us the capabilities to LAN.
