Symmetrical Maps.

Quite simple, I hope to see a return of more symmetrical maps. For me, some of the greatest maps have been symmetrical. The pit, Sanctuary, Valhalla, (I loved Construct), Coagulation/Blood Gulch and my favourite Avalanche. Oh and Beaver Creek.

For me, the Reach Maps were just not funto play. Boardwalk, Sword Base (lift campathon), Countdown and the god awful Spire.

Of course, not all the maps have to be symmetrical, and the symmetrical ones don’t have to be perfectly symmetrical but I feel that the symmetrical ones (on the whole) tend to be fun to play. Reach’s maps just didn’t do it for me, the spawns were just a bit unpredictable.

The Pit is a great example of a type of map I love. And Beaver Creek. With these two, they lend themselves to team play and generally, an interesting match whatever you play. The haphazard and cluttered maps don’t. Look at Spire. One of the worst for me.

Just my thoughts, but I would love to see the return of more symmetrical, and classically Halo type maps.

Me too. I’m glad you brought this up! My hope is that there will be a number of solid classical FPS and more importantly classic Halo arena style maps in Halo 4 launch.

Symmetrical maps do have a naturally inherent balance to them, but oddly enough, one of my favorite maps was unsymmetrical (guardian).

I think a good combo of both is the way to go.

Yeah, I like symmetrical maps because it keeps everything balanced. However, it couldn’t hurt having a few non-symmetrical maps just to mix things up a little bit.

I agree… we also need some nice BTB maps as well. I remember when containment came out… man i didn’t even like it THAT much back then… but every time i play 2 bomb on hemmerage i miss those days.
