Does anyone understand swords?
Because i just finished a game and a lot of Bull**** happened
Everyone somehow attacked faster then me, When i hit someone they still somehow killed me so i don’t understand how swords works because whenever i play it people always kill me in a way they shouldn’t have.
Fighting with the swords is quite simple actually. If you hit your opponent he dies unless he, is in a vehicle, has the green shieldstuff, you’re out of charges or he has a sword himself and hits you at the same time. In the last case, you’re like duelling each other and you can take two hits instead
Maybe you faced cheaters in your last game?
I’ve had previous discussions with Community Engineer Cizlin regarding the Clash system in Halo 4, and sword clashing is random and broken according to him. He said that the sword clashing mechanic is different in Halo 4 compared to that of the previous games and wasn’t programmed properly, so sometimes, clashing glitches and despite the clash, one player will kill another despite clashing.
It’s not cheating, the mechanic is broken, hence random.
The sword has always worked fine for me except when a player or players (myself or others) has/have bad connections. Lag marginalizes most game play, but it makes one-shot/one-kill weapons utterly unplayable. What you’re describing sounds a lot more like lag than “bad sword code.”

A lot of Bulltrue medals? You must play a lot of Flood.
Anyone get it? I’m told I talk to much.

May be true, but it’s funny XD
I was playing Swords on Rumple pit, so it wasn’t flood or a team slayer match etc. Everyone had a sword, and everyone had a good connection yet people still killed me in ridiculous ways, bad sword coding is actually the best explanation so far.
I haven’t had any bad experiences with the sword. The only time I feel I have an issue with the sword is when I play Grifball. So many times I should beat a person that has a hammer by using the sword, yet I always seems to get killed. I’ve adjusted to this by using the hammers, but even then it seems like the hammers are random.

Hammers always beat swords.
I know when I have sword and die, it’s usually by lag.
OP, you might want to consider lag, but more importantly, the two different types of sword attack. Most players only press the right trigger to initiate a lunge, whereas pressing B will swing the sword in a more sideways, but also faster way. Also, I’ve found through my (heavy) playtesting that pulling the trigger while still sprinting can sometimes be less effective than stopping sprint early and swording the opponent while walking normally.
If another player and I clash in swords, I’ll usually make sure my reticule is on target, and then follow up by hitting B, rather than just spamming the RT again and again. If my aim is on target, my B swing kills them before their RT lunge can connect.
IMHO the most important thing in swords is teamwork, or in FFA, barging in on two players that are already occupied. Hitting an opponent in between sword swings is the easiest and most reliable way of getting kills.
I always know that it calls for the right time and usually using melee for me.
They’re not broken, they’re fine. I’ve had plenty of bad games where there was someone who was really good with them, but that was just because that guy knew what he was doing. Not because it’s broken.
