What happens if a sword and a hammer melee each other at the same time?

Does the sword overpower the hammer?

Or does the hammer overpower the sword.

I would prefer that they parry until one out melee’s the other.

What is your opinion on this?

Hammer has and always will be more of an AOE weapon.

The hammer has the AOE advantage, but the advantage the sword had is reduced(lunge range). So will it be balanced or will the hammer overpower the sword 100% of the time?

The Hammer will always win against the player with the Sword if you have quick reactions! However, the Sword will most likely win against the Hammer when the Sword has the target instead of the Hammer.

Best of both worlds, really.
