Sword Fighting Playlist!

For a weekend and/or Double XP playlist they should have Sword Fighting. It would feature different arenas crafted by the hands of players. It would allow up to six players. I developed two distinct gametype variants for Sword Fighting that the playlist could use.

Swords

  • 150% Movement Speed
  • Three loadouts, one with Thruster Pack and AA efficiency, one with Hardlight Shield and resupply, and one with Active Camo. They all feature energy swords (of course), two frags (hard to use due to increased movement speed) and pistol sidearms (to spice things Up).
  • Motion sensors with 25m range.
  • Team and Free for All versions.

Swords Pro

[/li]- 150% Movement Speed

  • One loadout with Thruster Pack and AA efficiency. No grenades or pistol sidearms, but they still come with swords (of course).
  • Faster Shield Regeneration
  • No motion sensors.
  • Team and Free for all versions.

I have a number of Sword Arenas that could be used in the playlist.

Sword Arena

[/li]- Two levels.

  • Lower level has four pillars, has a raised floor in the middle. There are four grav lifts in the corners that lead to the upper level.
  • Upper level is a giant wall surrounding the Lower level. Later in the battle, people usually bring the fight up there. It’s risky considering that one can fall off.
  • Sword Arena I.V*

[/li]- Same as Sword Arena but has the grav lifts removed, limiting the entire thing to the lower level. Is considered by some to be “less cheap”.

  • Sword Arena III*

[/li]- A floating arena in the sky with a platform above.

  • There are 45-degree platforms that let you walk up onto the platform. You can also go under the platform by walking between the angled platforms.
  • Everyone spawns on platforms far from the arena and must launch themselves via grav lift to the arena. This to disable the ability to spawn kill.
  • Sword Arena IV*

[/li]- A team-based arena which is a bridge with one spawn room each team. Slopes lead down from the spawn room to the bridge.

  • Sword Arena V*

[/li]- More chaotic. There’s a giant lava pit in the middle and vehicles are flying that may knock you into it.

I cannot deny swords are cool.

However, are the sword mechanics the same as they were in Reach? If so, this playlist could backfire. Halo 3’s sword fights went on until the player that knew how to maneuver & combo attacks better won, with Reach both players died after the second or third clash.

Although, im not a big Sword fan, i would like to see a Sword Fighting Playist. However, remember that you have Griffball which allows you to use either a Gravity Hammer or Energy Sword.

Using a Sword in Grifball is a really easy way to get killed in Halo 4. Hammers move faster and have a wider range of damage than Swords. To properly use the Sword in Grifball you either need to catch an enemy off-guard or lunge right after they swing.

Sword Fighting in Halo 4 requires more precise timing than in the other games. It can end with both players dying, but that rarely ever happens to me.
