I think it would be cool if Sword Elites and Shield Jackals (special condition) had unique assassinations. Say you assassinate a Sword Elite, it steps back with it’s right leg, lifts it’s right arm and slashes downwards. Your Spartan skillfully dodges to the right, to where the Elite is vulnerable from the front. He/she then punches the Elite in the gut, taking out it’s shields and stunning it. The dazed enemy is then stabbed though the roof of that weird…gaping…split-lip mouth. Ugh. How do they even talk? Now for the Shield Jackals. You only trigger this one when you come up behind a Jackal and hit it’s shield, but it doesn’t know you’re there. The Jackal will attempt to slam you with it’s shield, and when it does, your Spartan grabs the top of the shield and push it to the ground, taking the Jackal with it. As the enemy attempts to get up, the Spartan plants his/her foot on the shield and stabs the Jackal in the head. Bringing back the Watcher assassination would be nice too, they did it with a Crawler assassination from Halo 4, when you’re on an uneven surface.
Sure, I’d be down for that. Always down for a little more flair for the sake of fun.
I’d suggest another one too while we’re at it, regarding Hunters. Kinda like the Knight finishers, it can only work if their health is below a certain level so you can’t just become totally OP with it. But basically you come up on it from behind, it tries to swing at you, you dodge, and then shove a primed grenade into one of its squishy areas before jumping away as it detonates. As it sounds, you can only do it if you have a grenade in your inventory (and it would be expended by this move).

That was in an early build for Halo: Reach actually. Not sure why they cut it though. It looked perfectly fine and could’ve been in the final retail release.
I’d be down for a Sword Elite assassination where you literally break the dude’s arm after he swings and stab him with his Energy Sword that he dropped, or in the case of a Shielded Jackal, perhaps something similar to the Terminal Velocity assasination where he tries to smash you with the shield but thruster away to dodge it, and then ram him with your thrusters, knocking him down to the floor all the while holding a knife in your hand (you stab the Jackal when you charge him).
StrickenCross88 bummer, that would’ve been pretty cool. I don’t get that logic, if they’ll allow people to do it for Knights but not for Hunters. They’re both the same kind of enemy, so it’s an odd refusal to make.
Wraith0912 I dig that shielded Jackal one a lot, with the thrusters and all. Sounds flashy, like something you’d see in a sci-fi action movie.
It would be pretty cool if you could take/redirect the jackal’s shield so that you stab it with the gunhole-thing.
Or you could go full Captain America and slice it up, that would be pretty sick.

I mean like one quick uppercut, just cutting the chest enough to kill them, nothing too gorey
That could be interesting but I can’t quite imagine a Jackal trying to slam me with it’s shield since last time I checked they don’t have melee attacks and so seeing them attempt one would look ridiculous in my opinion. And since they never use melee combat it would imply that in a battle they would never just reflexively try to to that since they never do that and therefor don’t have the reflex to do it and making your idea a bit impossible. Basically in that kind of environment I would believe that a Jackal would try something else before it ever tried to hit me with it’s shield. Unless 343 added that; I don’t play enough to know and I don’t get enough opportunities to get up close so for all I know Jackals have melees now and everything i said thus far is invalid. I’ll go off the assumption that that hasn’t been changed

Shield Jackals do have a melee, the Jackal Snipers don’t

Really? Why? I preferred it when they didn’t. Well if that’s the case then I’m fine with the assassination idea.

The Jackal shield melee is pretty broken in WarZone. But then again, all AI melee is broken in WarZone

They had the ability to plant grenades on hunters in halo 3
