I never thought to ask it before, but why did 343 remove sword block from halo? I mean we had it in reach then when 343 took over and made 4 it was gone and still missing in 5. It doesn’t make any sense. It doesn’t nerf the sword but skilled players would at least have the ability to try and execute this technique. I know they removed it but can we put it back? Please…
I’m pretty sure they went back and removed it from reach to in an update, apparently a lot of people hated it because it made the sword not as good of a power weapon.
It that’s just it though, there should always be a counter to any power weapon. It wasn’t exactly easy to pull off a sword block, and since halo 5 is so much faster paced, it’ll be even harder still. But when I’m facing down a dude with sword and can only bring him to one shot because I cannot sword block. That’s bothers me so much.
It better come back in infection because it was one of the few ways you could survive

A spartan charge maybe but not a lunge from a sword or hammer. You might be able to do it if you get lucky but its not something you can replicate with accuracy. If you like to test this theory feel free to hmu on Xbox. We can see how many lunges you can dodge. But I still hold a firm belief that you can only really dodge the spartan charge.

I guess that is true but I still don’t think that sword block is a good idea.
No that ability makes the sword a lot weaker so I’m glad it’s gone. They still have sword clashes so that’s good, means that if you use the melee button instead of shoot then your swing will hit them first
Back in the day the only way to block an energy sword was to kill the enemy first.
No sword block was present in halo reach. A properly timed melee can block sword. Of was so great. Bring it back
Sword blocking was pretty lame. The sword on Sword Base was useless, considering there was a shotgun on the same map. Sword blocking was super easy to pull off, seeing that most players instinctively melee players too close. Sword blocking killed the sword as a viable power weapon. I would prefer to not see it come back.
I think it’s because people feel better if they both die versus 1 person getting the kill. Especially with this kinda lag.
