Swim you Fools!

Halo 4 needs to have watercraft and give the Spartans the ability to swim. It would be a great feat in Forge, Machinima, and matchmaking. Imagine swimming to a boat And what about boats? I loved the dingy in Halo 3. I saw the motor so I thought it would work. But it didn’t, and I died. But watercraft should not be limited to just dingys. I think it could be more like, Aircraft carriers, cargo ships, fishing boats, and more. And that’s just for the humans. Let your imagination soar with the endless possibilities of Covenant and Forerunner boats and ships. What if there was a small motor powered raft that you could drop from a ship? Awesome. Their should be boats where 10+ people can fit, for big team games. Bottom line is (_________) that forge will be better with these additions.

I agree with the boat part but I don’t think Spartans can swim in 1000 pound armor.

It would be awesome if they added fast attack boats with machine gun turrets. They would be good for CTF and Machinma

Yeah, I don’t like how my Spartan could survive a fall from orbit in Reach, but died after going into water that is taller than they are. Swimming is needed.

No real need for watercraft though if they just make enemy vehicles like Ghosts able to hover on water. Halo’s battles always take place between space ships and land units anyway.

> I agree with the boat part but I don’t think Spartans can swim in 1000 pound armor.

The armor used by Spartan IV’s are self supporting and lightweight. I see no reason for them not being able to swim a little bit.

I’d love a boat as well.

As much as I hate my Spartan drowning in a teaspoon of water, I doubt they can swim in half-ton battle suits. They’d drop like a rock.

No way Spartans could swim with that armor. Maybe not die when they go under water, but then there’s really no way to get out.

> I agree with the boat part but I don’t think Spartans can swim in 1000 pound armor.

Yeah they should just sink, CE style.

MY GOD.
What is wrong with people. They six didnt survive a fall from orbit. See that thing on his back? ITS CALLED A RE ENTRY PACK. Seriously. How could you miss that?

Remember, they’re super-soldiers. Their strength is enhanced through their suits which I would assume is water-proof since they’re air-tight for space operations.

Honestly I thought it was just a jetpack when I played it, but it didn’t matter to me much.

Swimming Spartans would look pretty stupid I think. I wouldn’t mind boats though.

Despite the fact that the jet pack took out much of the impact, Noble 6 was still limping after his landing from the fall which makes us believe that he would’ve taken more damage from that than 7 ft. of water could ever inflict.

I wasn’t referring to him falling from thousands of miles of altitude and somehow surviving, but the damage that was inflicted on him during his re-entry.

Wow…

Water doesnt damage Spartans. They simply cant stay afloat.
We dont know if our new armor is any lighter, though i doubt it.

Their suits aren’t like regular armor where they move them with their own strength. Their suits are controlled by signals from their brains that would normally be sent to their muscles. The reason Spartans need the extra strength is b/c of the impact that some of these suits take which would normally crush a human bone into dust.

This is thoroughly explained in the Fall of Reach novel.

Tell me how a Spartan can flip a multi-ton tank, but yet they can’t stay afloat in 7 ft. of water.

I have read every halo book to date.
You dont need to explain that.
You obviously dont understand how swimming works. You cant just keep yourself afloat with 1000 pounds of downward force, even if you were super strong. Strength doesnt affect how one swims at all.
Increased force has no effect on weather or not they can swim.
Physics.
Even if they can manage paddling (most likely uneasily)
It would still be pushing it.
Jetpacks provide sufficient force. Simple. Do you even understand how much force jets provide?
That isnt comparable with water. Water isnt solid. They arnt pushing themselves upward. Their strength is not a factor in weather or not they can swim.
It doesnt work like that.

It is. Mark 7 is lighter than 6, so much so a Spartan can put it on by themselves or remove it.

I seriously doubt Halsey would design something with as big of a flaw as this. Spartans can do virtually anything as long as they don’t get wet.

Sounds more like a Gremlin than a super-soldier. They can easily swim, Bungie just never implemented it into gameplay b/c water works well as a kill zone.

Not only do the suits enhance their strength, but also their speed and reflexes making paddling easier for a Spartan than a human along with the fact that endurance isn’t a factor for them either.

Gravity has a greater pull on you that the spartan’s strength.
Halsey acknowledged that her designs arnt perfect. Each iteration becomes lighter. Mark 7 may be able to float.
