Sweaty players and toxic culture

I am so frustrated with the sweat fests the broken SBMM puts me in. I am a somewhat casual player and have played since CE. Halo has always been about having fun, messing with the sandbox, talking some smack, and just enjoying the game.

One match I’m performing average 1.5 kda to 2.0, next match I’m getting cross-map spawn camped by some loser that studied the spawns that is ghandi hopping and sliding like a maniac. I literally can visualize how ridiculous these players look like sitting in front of their screen, probably screaming and throwing their controller/KB because they died once.

This culture of trying like your life depends in it in a SOCIAL game is horrible and keeps me from wanting to play Halo Infinite. I am not alone in these feelings. Less players = Less money spent in the shop.

I just want to relax and enjoy the game after a long day at work. Just to earn the challenges I am matched up with players that pretty obviously have zero life and very obviously take the social playlists too seriously. Not to mention the toxicity from them, teabagging constantly, sending hate messages, etc.

343 you really need to do something about these players and SBMM.

It has already beed discussed to death, the current implementation of SBMM doesn’t make the game fun for anyone, every team has 4 players at vastly different skill levels, so the good ones complain about having basically bots in team whereas the weakest players get crushed to zero literally, and most likely uninstall the game because of that.

Quality over quantity is the way to go IMO, longer waiting times in the queue but having actually balanced teams where everyone is having fun, instead of being instantly thrown into what the game currently serves.

I totally agree with you I_Stryder_I. I am an original Halo player and I don’t want to see Halo go to waste because you get put in a sever with a bunch of sweaty people totally better than you. I think that those type of players that study the spawns that are ghandi hopping and sliding like a total manic are probably people who live in their parents basement playing Halo Infinite all day and spending all their money on cosmetics. Oh and yes I get really mad about how toxic they are. The ones who send hate messages are the worst and I hope they get banned cause we don’t need those toxic players and I think I am talking for everyone here. I also really think that sore losers are horrible. They will always send you messages saying you’re trash (and other words that should not be said) even though you are the one winning the game. It is totally disgusting that there are a lot of toxic players. 343 really needs to fix this…

I second your emotion. SBMM needs to go far away from Halo. It has no room in social playlist atleast… Im like you, Ive been around since CE released and I always put Halo first over dang near ANY game let alone FPS. The way Im thrown into matches over and over again with sweats because some AI says “Oh yeah he averages 60% accuracy on average 200 -300 shots fired? Lets constantly put him with other sweats”. Im not saying I dont want competition but I thought thats what RANKED was for???

Come play Quake Champions. You’ll be back to Halo Infinite in about three matches without a complaining bone in your body.

I agree with what you’re saying here, but even in the older games it didn’t seem as big as a problem as it is now.

This solution with the removal or reduction of SBMM would probably be needed to make a noticeable difference.
